I Refuse to Be Your Second Choice novel Chapter 188

The line remained muffled, but just as Alexander was about to hang up, assuming it was an accidental call, he faintly heard Sophia Green's voice through the distortion.

Within two minutes, he, Aaron, and a team of bodyguards were racing from the restaurant. He tried calling Natalie's phone repeatedly, but there was no answer. He immediately had Aaron pull up all available surveillance footage in the area.

It took Aaron less than ten minutes to pinpoint her location.

When Alexander arrived, he saw Natalie collapsed on the ground, a strange man rushing toward her, and in the distance, Sophia Green.

His bodyguards quickly subdued the man while Aaron apprehended a terrified Sophia, who was so frightened she could barely stand.

Alexander swept the unconscious Natalie into his arms, his voice as cold as ice as he gave the order: "Take them to the warehouse."

The warehouse…

At the sound of the word, Sophia’s heart plummeted, and she began to beg for mercy, but Alexander acted as if he hadn't heard a thing, striding swiftly toward his car.

"Alexander Ramirez, are you going to take the law into your own hands?!" Sophia shrieked after him.

Aaron shoved her into a car, and the slam of the door silenced her cries.

At the hospital, a medical team was already waiting. After a quick examination, they determined that she had only inhaled a small amount of the sedative; an IV drip would be enough to clear it from her system.

Only then did Alexander relax. He took Natalie's phone from her purse, his hand pausing for a fraction of a second as he entered her password and unlocked it. Then, he deleted his number from her recent call list.

Now, Natalie was ready to be discharged. After completing the paperwork, she took out her phone, intending to call the police. Sophia may have failed this time, but she would undoubtedly try again. Natalie knew she couldn't live in constant fear; involving the authorities was her only option for safety.

As she unlocked her phone, a news notification popped up on the screen. It was only a partial headline, but the words "Former top-tier celebrity: Sophia Green" caught her eye.

She tapped on it.

#Sophia Green Departs Country Looking Haggard, Rumored to Be Leaving Show Business.#

The headline was accompanied by a paparazzi photo of Sophia at the airport, head down, her face partially obscured by her hair but still visibly gaunt.

"If you're so concerned, you should ask her yourself," Alexander said, taking a club from the caddy. "And don't be in such a hurry to be a grandfather."

Gabriel's eyes widened, and he jabbed his club into the turf in frustration. "You damn kid, what kind of thing is that to say? You and Camila are about to get engaged. Why do you still have this attitude?"

"Those are two different matters."

With that, Alexander swung. A moment later, a flag waved in the distance, signaling a hole-in-one.

Gabriel knew his son's temper. Alexander wouldn't change his stance until the DNA was confirmed. Besides, he had another reason for inviting him out today.

As they drove to the next hole, Gabriel said, "Arthur called me. He wants you to go easy on his son."

Alexander kept his eyes on the path, making a slight adjustment to the steering wheel.

"It's not up for discussion."
