"Stop pretending to be the good guy, Bruce," Eric said, his voice laced with a bitter laugh as Bruce grabbed him by the collar. "Alexander and I were never friends. He always acted like he was above me, like I didn't even exist. Why should I care about him?"

Bruce didn't answer. Instead, his fist crashed into Eric's face.

Eric staggered back, wiping a smear of blood from his mouth. His eyes were dark, full of venom. "You think you're better than me, Bruce? You're just Alexander Ramirez's shadow, following him around like a lost puppy."

Bruce looked ready to hit him again, but Alexander stepped in, blocking his path.

"That's enough," Alexander said, his voice cold as he stared at Eric.

Suddenly, quick footsteps echoed from the end of the hallway. Police officers rushed in, forming a tight circle around Camila and Eric.

"Camila White, drop the knife!" the lead cop shouted.

Natalie felt the blade at her neck shake, her whole body trembling. The next moment, the paper cutter clattered to the floor.

Camila crumpled, sinking to the ground with empty, hopeless eyes.

The police wasted no time. They cuffed Camila and Eric, preparing to take them away.

As soon as the officers released Natalie, Alexander hurried over, gripping her shoulders. "Are you okay?"

Natalie shook her head, her hand brushing the shallow scratch on her neck. "I'm fine," she managed.

She was about to say more when a glint of metal caught her eye.

As the police led Camila past them, Camila’s eyes flashed wild with hatred.

Out of nowhere, Camila broke free, snatched the paper cutter off the floor, and hurled herself toward Alexander’s back.

"Die!" she screamed.

Natalie barely had time to think. She threw herself in front of Alexander, pushing him away.
