But pain all over made me groan.

But no matter what he said, I kept shaking my head. Panicked. Anxious.
Dad lost it. Yelled. “The shed’s for DOGS! Not people!”

Next thing I knew, I was falling.
The impact was dull. Heavy. Like something breaking.
Jax came running, voice cracking with panic.
“Dad! She’s bleeding! A lot!”
