He was happy and surprised, rubbing his hands together. “Mr. Lock, we’ve found a matching blood type. We just need to do the surgery as soon as possible.”

When he heard that, Finn frowned. “Didn’t you say the hospital didn’t have a matching blood type? And don’t you have a heart problem, so you can’t give blood?”

Henry waved his hand. “Don’t worry, we’ve found someone. They’re waiting in the operating

room.”

Finn looked inside. The operating room door was ajar. He could see some cold silver instruments and someone lying on one of the beds, too blurred to see clearly.

He felt an unexplained unease and took a few steps closer, wanting to get a better look.

But then, Nadine boldly grabbed his hand.

He stopped and looked over, seeing that although Nadine was nervous, her eyes were especially bright. “Finn, I can’t believe you came to see me.”

Her voice was clear and surprisingly strong for a patient.

“You’re still weak. You don’t need to speak so loudly.”

Thinking of Nadine’s condition, Finn didn’t pull his hand away from hers.

He gave a quick look over there but didn’t think too much about it. It was only a stranger giving blood. He didn’t care.

Thinking that Nadine would be fine, there was no need to worry too much about Tess being punished later.

Nadine’s smile only grew brighter, joy and triumph practically spilling from her eyes.

She obediently stopped talking and lay back on the hospital bed, but out of the corner of her eye, she met a pair of shocked eyes peeking through the doorway.

She smirked, her eyes full of challenge.

Tess calmly looked away, finding it all incredibly ironic.

Yesterday, Finn was drunk and passed out, but this morning, he was able to wake up and rush to the hospital. Mr. Lock is truly willing to go to great lengths for his love.

A mocking smile slowly appeared on Tess’s face.

The bright light on the ceiling was flickering, making her feel dizzy.
