His sharp features were hidden in the darkness, as if he were a silent statue.

Since Finn had spoken, no one dared push the matter further. They went back to drinking, trying to liven up the mood again.

It was a young heir’s birthday party. He had invited Finn many times before, but Finn always turned him down, saying he was too busy. Still, they were longtime friends. The young heir kept waiting for Finn. Now that he was about to leave for another country, this was their last chance to meet.

Finn rubbed his brow. The noise around him felt especially grating at this moment.

“Come in.”

The door swung open with cheers, and a group of beautiful women filed inside.

Finn pressed his lips together.

The waitress cried out in shock, panic making her stomp down hard on his foot.

He was about to slap the waitress across the face when a hand caught his wrist.

“You… You guys carry on,” Finn cut in, rubbing his brow once more.

He rose and moved to an even darker corner, sitting down on another couch. His figure disappeared into the shadows, leaving only the faint glimmer of the glass in his hand catching the light.

After that small scene, the party was no longer as loud as before. Everyone, more or less, toned down their behavior.
