Kylian/Karma’s P.O.V.
Psy.cho: What’s taking y’all so long? Thought you were meeting us back here.
Me: We’re leaving soon.
I tossed my phone on the seat and looked across from me at Dragon and Blythe. They were both passed out. Understandably so. We haven’t been fu.cking in the limo for that long. Two hours max. It was just… so fu.cking intense. I couldn’t let it drag out, otherwise there are three of my brothers who would be furious. I’ll wake up these two when we get back to the clubhouse. Soon.
There was a knock on the glass window beside my head. I looked at Dragon and Blythe one more time before quietly getting out. I was still shirtless, and my jeans were still undone, but I didn’t give a sh.it. He knew what I was up to in this limo. He knew he might see something when he agreed to meet me for a moment.
“Surprised you’re not back at your clubhouse,” Luca said. “Ravishing your ol‘ lady with the other few of your brothers.”
I leaned against the car and folded my arms across my broad chest.
“I was gonna go back,” I admitted. “I was gonna tell the driver to start headin‘ that way after our first round, but…”
“But what?” he asked. “I would have come to the clubhouse, you know.”
I shook my head. I did know that. I know how much Luca cares about Dragon. Hell, if they weren’t part of the mafia I’d do everything I could to get them to prospect for the club. The Rossi family is extremely loyal. We got lucky that Dragon caught their eyes. We made a very good friend in Luca and his brothers.
“I can’t wait,” I said. “I need to know what you know about what Blythe went through.”
“I told you,
I don’t know anything really,” he replied.
“But you have suspicions,” I stated.
“What’s this about? What happened?” Luca asked.
I sighed and ran a hand through my short hair. The image of what I saw on Blythe’s back just keeps flashing in my mind. She was scared of us seeing her scars, and we already knew why. We’d all seen them. Now that we know more, we’re pretty sure it’s from some sort of whip. We thought maybe she didn’t know we had really seen. That had to have been why she asked me not to look that night in the shower. At least, that’s what I thought.
Turns out, my Spark was hiding something worse.
I clenched my jaw as I turned around and punched the nearest thing to me. Which happened to be Luca’s car. Glad he’s got bullet–proof windows, otherwise, I would have just shattered it.
“What happened, Karma?” Luca asked again, this time more seriously.
“I saw somethin‘ on her back. Somethin‘ that fu.cker must have done to her,” I said. “It’s no fu.ckin‘ wonder why she ran.”
And even after going through that, she still didn’t feel safe enough with us to come home. It makes me sick. I feel even worse than I did before. If we hadn’t taken Everly and Alex’s side so much… maybe Bly wouldn’t have felt so fu.cking alone. Maybe there would have been a place for her to go to where she felt safe…
“What did you see?” Luca asked, his voice stern but gentle.
I huffed out a breath as I shook my head. Now I have to explain it. Describe it. I have to, because I have a feeling I’m going to need Luca’s help. I also have to tell the others before they see it themselves. I seriously fu.cking doubt Psy.cho wouldn’t flip his sh.it in the moment if he wasn’t warned. He might anyway after he sees it. It made me see fu.cking red. I had to focus on the situation instead of my anger. I didn’t want Blythe to feel bad about what I saw. To feel like she was some kind of freak or some sh.it.
“On the left side of her back, towards her ribs… He… that bas.tard fu.ckin‘ branded her!” I growled out, furious.
“Branded her?” he asked.
“It’s so well hidden,” I muttered. “Her hair or clothes hide it. You’d only see it if you got her naked, but… it’s there. Branded. Burned into her skin. That bast.ards initals. S.D.”
I can’t fu.cking believe he did that to her. My poor Spark. We were supposed to protect her. We should have. We should have kidnapped her back then. Shouldn’t have given her a choice. We should have proven to her that we cared.
“Sean Dixon,” Luca muttered. “He was marking his territory.”
I scoffed.
“That’s what I want to figure out,” Luca said. “I need to get inside that church.”
“Okay, so what next?” I asked.
“Look, Sean and the Dixon’s are powerful,” he told me. “So powerful that they’re practically untouchable for me. Which shouldn’t be possible. This… is going to take time.”
I blew out a breath and ran my hand through my hair.
“I got a couple of guys lookin‘ into the church already,” I admitted. “They haven’t gotten in, just scopin‘ the place out. Maybe you can send a team to work with them.”
“I’ll send a team right away and backup for them,” Luca promised.
“I’ll call them and tell them to be careful,” I muttered.
“Listen Karma, we’re going to figure this out and get the revenge Blythe deserves,” he said. “I know this is difficult, but… at least she’s here with you now.”
I looked inside the limo, barely seeing their outlines through the tint.
“We’re gonna head back,” I told him. “Call me when you know somethin‘.”
Luca gave me a single nod and I quietly slipped back into the limo. Bly and Dragon were still cuddled up on the other seat. She was lying on top of Dragon as he snored. They looked peaceful, and I felt bad that I was about to ruin all of that. At least for Dragon. Because he was about to learn something about the love of his life that would make him sick.
We all were.
As the limo started to pull away, I grabbed my phone. Psy.cho and CG both texted me several more times. CG was clearly drunk. Psy.cho was drunk and getting angry. I even had a text from Havoc asking when we’d be back. I decided to just put all five of us in a group chat and typed a text out to them.
Me: We’ll be back in about an hour. Sober up brothers, ‘cause I’m callin‘ church for the five of us.
