Rita’s POV

After I got rid of Julian, I looked at the man who wanted to talk to me. He was very handsome, and it was obvious he was wealthy, which surprised me since Manuela's boyfriend said he was just a detective. I followed him to the hotel bar, and we sat at a table in the back.

"So, Mr. Cesar, what do you want?" I asked straightforwardly. If he thought he could intimidate me, he was very wrong.

"Uh..." He looked at me, and then I realized I hadn't told him my name.

"My name is Rita," I said and waited for what he had to say.

"Rita, I have plans for my son, and I believe you also have plans for your daughter. That's why I need to take my son home, but while he's dating your daughter, he won't go. I believe together we can resolve this," he explained, and I understood - he did not want his son with Manuela, just as I was not happy with this relationship.

"This relationship is causing me many problems too," I lamented. "Do you think together we can make these two drift apart?"

"I think so. My son is very stubborn, but maybe we can convince your daughter," he was very optimistic. Manu wouldn't be convinced; she would have to be dragged away.

"That one? I doubt it. When she gets something in her head, it's irritating. Honestly, she'll only stay away from him if she's forced to."

"Do you have any ideas in mind?" I did, of course I did.

"Yes, drag her back home. There she'll marry a young man, the son of my friend, and he'll keep her in line, locked up at home," I said. "That was the agreement I made with Mr. Calvin. I would find a way to take all that brat's assets before the wedding and then get rid of her. That inheritance her grandfather left belonged to Julian, but the old man left my son with nothing."

"It would be a huge disappointment for Flavian if she got married. That would be perfect for me; I could use it to convince him to come back home." I was curious to know why he wanted his son to return.

"And why do you want him to come back? It's only fair that you tell me, since I've already shared my plans for my daughter," I asked. After all, he knew what I wanted, at least partially.

"To take over the family business with his brother. I never understood why he gave up everything to become a lowly detective with a starvation salary," the contempt was visible on his face.

"I see. If your son hadn't shown up, I would have dragged Manuela back home today, but he had to appear and ruin my plans," I complained.

"Ah, that's what Flavian does best, ruining other people's plans," he laughed.
