Irresistible Boss Succumbing to Your Touch (Maria Anita) novel Chapter 570

Rita’s POV

Those police officers almost found Manuela. Lucky me! Actually, lucky Calvin who found out about it in time. Now I needed to figure out how to deal with this money and company situation. But did Cam really manage to prevent me from getting my hands on Manuela's inheritance? He didn't show me any papers, it could all be lies. Could it? And there's something else - he wanted to negotiate the little rat's freedom with me. Maybe I can use this to my advantage. I'm going after that idiot.

"MOM! MOM!" Julian burst into the house screaming. "Ah, there you are!"

"Stop yelling, boy! What do you want?" What got into this kid to come in screaming like that?

"Mom, I went to Calvin's house, I went to tell him he's my father. But he said he's not my father. So, Mom, you owe me explanations. I want to know, and no lies, who is my father?" Julian asked angrily, approaching me.

"I told you not to go after him. I warned you!" But it wasn't possible that this kid was going to start bothering me with this.

I grabbed my purse and stood up, ready to leave, but Julian pushed me onto the couch and I fell sitting down.

"What's this, boy? Are you crazy? Get out of my way," I complained, but he stared at me and showed no sign of moving.

"You're going to tell me who my father is, you're going to tell me everything about that guy who called you Chubby, and you're going to tell me now!" Julian leaned over me threateningly.

"Get out of my way, Julian! I'll talk to you later, I'm in a hurry," I complained, but he wouldn't move.

"I won't! I'm not moving until you tell me who my father is. Come on, Rita! Or did you sleep with so many men you don't even know who my father is?" Julian was going too far.

"Show some respect, kid! I'm your mother!" I stood up and faced him.

"Right now you're just a slut who slept with a bunch of men and doesn't know who her son's father is," he replied, and I wanted to slap him, but the insolent boy grabbed my wrist. "And you know what I thought? I thought if I'm not Orlando's son, Manuela probably isn't either. So why did he only ask for my DNA test?"

"You stupid kid! Look here, Julian, you respect me because I'm your mother, whether you like it or not. Want to know why Orlando didn't ask for Manuela's DNA? Because he's her father, but I'm not her mother. As for you, you're my son, and your father was a good-for-nothing, a bum just like you, who lived doing nothing useful, but I loved him, loved him so much I had his child. Now you know - you're the son of a nobody. Oh, and if you want to go looking for him, just go to the cemetery, because he's dead. And you know who killed him? Calvin. Well, he didn't kill him, he just ordered it done. Now you know. Get out of my way." Julian was staring at me open-mouthed and speechless. I pushed him aside and left.

I needed to talk to Cam, but I also needed to get to the bottom of Manuela's inheritance story, which I would confirm with the lawyer. It would be better to talk to him first and then talk to Cam. I stopped by the lawyer's office, and it took no more than half an hour for him to tell me everything I needed to know. It seemed like he was expecting me, as he had everything organized and showed me all the documents. Cam had been very clever; I would never be able to get my hands on a single penny from that pest Manuela. Very well then, if things couldn't go the way I wanted, they would go another way, but I wouldn't walk away empty-handed. I parked my car at Cam's house and called him.

"Cam. I want to talk to you. I'm here at your door, keep your wife on a leash." I said and hung up. Soon he opened the gate and came toward my car.

"What do you want, Rita?" He didn't have an ounce of manners, this insufferable man.

"Aren't you going to invite me in?" I looked at him as he remained impassive. "I came to talk about your little sister, isn't that what you call her?"
