Irresistible Boss Succumbing to Your Touch (Maria Anita) novel Chapter 573

Rita’s POV

I arrived at the notary's office and Calvin was already there, all smug, acting like he was the groom of the year. He was talking to the notary, and I saw him hand over a thick envelope, surely containing money for the questionable marriage he was about to perform.

"Calvin! Where is she?" I asked as I approached.

"Calm down, Chubby! My bride is on her way." Calvin was very relaxed.

"You should have arranged this at your house or at the farm, so those cops couldn't interfere." I didn't understand why he wanted to do this at the notary's office.

"Look, Chubby, I would have preferred that too, but the notary couldn't travel today, and since I'm in a hurry to get this done, we're here. But nobody's going to bother us." Calvin showed no concern whatsoever.

"Stop calling me Chubby," I warned him, and he laughed, truly a jerk. "How are you so sure they won't find us here before this wedding?"

"I had the detective take care of it, and he sent those idiots to the ravine. By the time they get back, I'll be long gone with Manuela."

"And how did he do that? How did he manage to send all those cops so far away?" I was curious because Flavian had no sympathy for the town's detective.

"He had an officer play innocent, pretend he wanted to help, and give false information." Calvin laughed and looked at the door where Manuela was being pushed in by one of his thugs.

Manuela arrived wearing a white blouse and green shorts, with horrible flip-flops. The clothes were too big for her body. I admired my handiwork, the damage I'd done to that angelic little face, and smiled. There were bruises all over her face, the mark of my ring on both sides - a ring I'd bought years ago just to leave a mark when I hit her - and there was also a bruise emerging on her right eye and running down her cheek, the eye was almost shut from the swelling. I felt like making the other eye match.

"Don't even think about hitting her again!" Calvin warned me, as if reading my thoughts, and walked toward the thug who had entered with Manuela. "Why isn't she wearing the clothes I sent?"

"She refused, boss. And I thought you wouldn't be happy if I forced her to dress." The thug replied.

"You thought right. Manuela, why didn't you put on the dress? We're getting married..." Manuela lifted her head and looked defiantly at Calvin.

"I will never marry you!" She spoke each word with determination and anger.

"Oh, stop being dramatic, Manuela." I butted into the conversation because I loved terrorizing that little rat. "You're going to marry Calvin and that's final, get used to it. You'll never see that detective again, or your little friends, and especially not your daddy."

"I hate you, Rita! I hate you!" Manuela was crying again, and I laughed. "But you can't force me to get married."

"We'll see about that," I said with a smile. "Come on, Calvin, let's get this started. Or do you want me to dress her by force?"

"I already told you not to hit her again. Look at her condition, she won't be able to handle anything on her honeymoon," Calvin complained, and I saw Manuela shudder.

"Then she'll get married just as she is," I smiled.
