Epilogue
Rin
Kay was fussing about her in the bride’s room, and Anabell and Lisa were sitting right there in pretty fuchsia pink dresses. The colour matched her bouquet of flowers, all soft to medium shades of pink flowers. Anabell’s hand was resting on her belly and she was chuckling softly at Calvin’s mother’s actions.
Lisa was still a bit stand–offish with Calvin, but they were getting along better than before. He found her to be a challenge, even more so than his sister, and it frustrated him. Veronica and Cheryl had both warned her about Kay. ‘Mother is going to fuss a lot, she did with our weddings, she’d been told, by them. Kay was over the moon at finally getting to hold a wedding for her son, something she’d stated she’d been denied all those years ago, and wouldn’t be denied again.
Calvin hadn’t disappointed her or his mother with this event. He’d let his mother do most of the planning with her, and he’d been right there, had put a stipulation in place, that being if she didn’t want it, it was a no, he wouldn’t budge on it. She’d wanted the wedding to be outside and not in a church like his mother had wanted.
So outside it was.
There was she knew a massive marque out there for the guests to sit under, a beautiful material one that draped ‘romantically‘, Calvin had told her, and there were white chairs all lined up on either side of the white runway, that was laid out for her to walk down to him, and flowers that matched her bridal bouquet all the way down there to the arbor that they would stand under to make their vows to each other.
She could hear the guests as they arrived and were shown to the open grassed area beyond the garden, where everything was set up for their wedding ceremony. She also knew there was another identical one for the reception, a dance floor set up, He’d been dancing with her nearly every night, whether it be in the living room, out by the pool or in their bedroom, had told her he was rusty and needed the practice. It wasn’t true, he just liked dancing, and was good at it.
There were going to be just over a hundred guests. She’d thought that was too many, but Calvin had stated, ” Sweetheart, do you recall how many people we know? I cut the list a lot, as much as I could for you. And I
annoyed some important people.”

She’d only invited Lisa and her family, and the girls from C.R. Technology that she had been in the gaming industry with. Everyone else was Calvin’s family, or people that he knew through business, or fundraisers he always attended. The elite Houston crowd that knew him and had known her when they’d last been married.
No one seemed to really mind them getting back together. After that press conference, they kind of just
expected it, she supposed. When Calvin proposed, it was at their first official, being seen together as a couple attending a major event, a fundraiser gala about a month after they’d come together. He’d gotten down on one knee before everyone, before everyone there, and smiled up at her. “I love Marilyn, will you marry me?”
She’d been quite embarrassed and had tried to pull him up off the floor, and he’d smiled at her and shaken
his head. “I want them all to see, and here, I love you, want to marry you, and only when you answer the
question will I get up off this floor.” he told her..
She’d stared at him and huffed the man she knew wasn’t going to get up. So she’d decided to play his game, and had folded her arms across her chest, and pretended to think about it for a full minute. There had been many chuckles in that room, and she’d felt Calvin tug at her dress. “Rin my love, put me out of my misery, he

murmured.
She’d turned and looked about the ballroom and Wil and Anabell were nearly in stitches. “Should I put the man out of his misery?” she’d asked the crowd, and the crowd had erupted in a resounding yes. She’d looked down at him and smiled. “Yes, Cal, I will marry you.” She’d finally answered his question, and the moment that ring had been on her finger, he’d stood up and kissed her for all to see, and she’d wound her arms around his neck and kissed him back uncaring of the display of affection. The moment his mouth had left hers, she’d murmur “I love you.” It was a loving, fun memory.
Calvin was also out there now. She knew, she had heard him greet many as he’d headed to the marque himself. The time was getting close. He had already come to see her this morning, and gotten into an almost heated argument with Veronica here in the guesthouse about him not seeing the bride before the wedding.
He stated flatly, “I haven’t kissed Rin, good morning,” they’d gone back to calling each other Rin and Cal, and that kiss he was wanting was something he did every day. Not a single day had gone by in the past five months; since their coming back together, had he not kissed her good morning.
She’d been made to stay in the guesthouse last night on Kay’s orders and not in their bed together. Marilyn had had to bite down on the chuckle that was trying to escape her as she watched Calvin and Veronica go head–to–head. They were a lot alike. Anabell had stepped in, in the end and Calvin had been blindfolded before so that Marilyn could walk over to him and let him kiss her. It was clear he wasn’t leaving until he got what he wanted.
He’d kissed the hell out of her, before resting his forehead on hers. “I missed you,” he’d murmured. He always just told her what he was feeling nowadays, wanted her to know and she knew it. Anabell had tugged him away in the end, because he couldn’t fight her about it. She was due to have her baby in nine days.
They were having this wedding at Cliffside; it was their home. The place they were going to live from now on. He’d moved out of the city apartment, and she’d moved from Virginia. The boys had a new school and were currently out there with Calvin, Wil and Malcom, and she hoped calm and settled and not running about like the two little lunatics they were.
She was finally in her dress, and she watched Veronica and Cheryl head on outside. She stood and took a
She looked at Anabell, “Are you alright?”
Lisa had smiled and removed her shoes. “We’ll go barefoot together, make it like it’s a planned thing.” Lisa
and Anabell got along well, and when Lisa was here, the three of them would often have lunch together.
She heard the music start, and they made their way through the garden out to the marquee, and she saw Calvin look right at her and smile. He was too damned handsome sometimes, and in that tux, he looked
perfect to her. She saw his eyes move over the dress, all he knew was that it was strapless. It was a lace A–line dress with a soft sweetheart neckline and a train at the back. She’d opted for no vell at all, just a nice clip to hold her curled hair back from her face. She was wearing the jewellery that Calvin had gifted to her as
a wedding present yesterday. She’d found out when opening it that her engagement ring was actually part of
He stepped over to her and took her hand, “You are beautiful, Marilyn.” He told her, and she smiled at him, though he told her that all the time, she never really got tired of hearing it.
