Kicked Out I Unlocked My Ultimate Boss Mode novel Chapter 36

**TITLE: Broken Doesn’t Mean End**
**By M. Kaushik**
**Chapter 36: Five Seconds**

Helen lifted her hand, displaying five fingers with a sense of purpose.

“Five seconds.”

Her voice rang out, crisp and unwavering. “The partnership between the Morgans and the Walcotts is officially terminated.”

Five seconds?

Derek felt a shiver run down his spine, the lingering effects of Timothy’s earlier intimidation still fresh. But Helen’s declaration ignited something within him. He could no longer hold back the flood of emotions that surged through him.

Even Sean’s friends, who had been observing the tense standoff, erupted into laughter, their jeers cutting through the heavy atmosphere like a knife.

The room, once thick with anxiety, suddenly burst into a cacophony of disbelief and mockery.

“Helen, have you completely lost your mind? Do you even grasp the weight of what you’re saying?” Derek’s voice dripped with sarcasm, desperation clawing at him as he sought to regain the dignity Timothy had stripped away. “Five seconds? You think you can just command the Walcotts to sever their ties with the Morgans? Who do you think you are?”

He let out a derisive laugh. “Just because you carry the Walcott name, you believe you’re some sort of heiress? Let me enlighten you—same name, different destiny!”

“Exactly, Helen… or should I say, Ms. Walcott. I understand you’re upset, but making such statements in front of Mr. Garcia is utterly inappropriate.” Lydia feigned concern, her eyes darting toward Timothy, eager for his validation.

But before she could finish her thought, the shrill ring of Derek’s phone sliced through the tension, echoing off the walls of the room.

All eyes turned to him in unison.

Five seconds!

Precisely five seconds!

An unsettling silence enveloped the space, as if time itself had halted.

Derek’s heart plummeted, a chilling foreboding washing over him.

With trembling fingers, he reached for his phone, dread pooling in his stomach.

“Answer it.” Helen crossed her arms, a sly smile playing on her lips, her demeanor radiating mockery.

Derek felt her contempt weigh heavily upon him.

He swallowed hard, forcing himself to meet her gaze, which sparkled with sarcasm, and gritted his teeth. “Fine! I’ll answer it! There’s no way you wield that kind of influence!”

With a quick swipe, he answered, deliberately activating the speakerphone feature to amplify the moment.

As the call connected, a steady, authoritative voice emerged from the other end.

“Hello, is this Derek Morgan?”
