Even Finley looked at her with contempt. “She’s gotten completely carried away.”
Honora stepped back, and as she passed Larissa, she whispered with a smirk, “Good luck, Larissa. Everyone is watching. Try not to make a complete fool of yourself.”
Larissa shot her a sideways glance. “You’re the one who should be worried. With your level of talent, you’d be better off learning to farm from me. That way, you’ll have a way to support yourself after you’re kicked out of the Judson family.”
Honora was left speechless.
Under the watchful eyes of everyone present, Larissa walked to the piano and sat down. She casually pushed up the sleeves of her evening gown, a gesture that completely lacked the elegance Honora had displayed.
After sitting, she didn’t immediately begin to play. Instead, she closed her eyes, her hands moving in the air as if tracing invisible notes, a soft melody humming from her lips.
“It actually looks like she’s composing.”
“She’s just putting on a show.”
“How long is this going to take? Are we just supposed to watch her sit there?”
Just as the crowd’s patience began to wear thin, Larissa’s eyes snapped open. The casual air was gone, replaced by a look of unprecedented focus.
In the audience, Haskell once again raised his phone, aiming the camera at Larissa. These were precious moments, and he intended to preserve every single one.
Noticing Haskell’s actions, Torrin was not to be outdone. He took out his own phone and then held a hand out to his father.
“Dad, give me your phone.”
Colter frowned. “What are you up to now?”
