A smile touched Larissa's lips. She now held the keys to every major Judson family enterprise that Paxton and his family controlled.
"Good work, Nightveil. Thank you," she said before hanging up.
The smile in her eyes lingered.
How perfectly ironic. Finley was pinning his hopes for Starlight Media on acquiring the rights to her last novel.
Too bad for him. That was never going to happen.
Humming a little tune, Larissa finished packing the rest of her herbs into their boxes. Shadow, Snowy, and Sage were at her feet, wagging their tails and helping as best they could. They were well-practiced, and soon all the herbs were neatly sorted.
A knock came at the door.
"Larissa, are you in there?" It was Sapphira's gentle voice.
"I am," Larissa called out. She stored the last box in the cabinet, shooed her pets into hiding, and opened the door.
Sapphira's eyes lit up the moment she saw her. She took Larissa's hand and led her into the room. "Larissa, the evening gown I ordered for you has arrived! You have to try it on!"
Two delivery men followed them in, carefully carrying a garment bag, which they unzipped to lay the gown out on the bed.
It was breathtaking. Every detail shimmered with exquisite craftsmanship. Under the lights, the dress glittered as if it were spun from starlight, illuminating the entire room.
