Larissa's Game of Thrones (Larissa) novel Chapter 91

Larissa’s gaze then shifted to Honora, whose face was a mask of bitter disbelief. A small smile touched Larissa’s lips as she added pointedly, “A fake is a fake. No matter how convincing the disguise, it can never become the real thing.”

Honora quickly composed herself before anyone could notice her expression, forcing her hands to relax and smoothing her features back into a mask of graceful dignity.

“For those of you who followed the creation of this gown,” Larissa explained to the room, “you’ll know that the designer, Color, said in an interview that her inspiration was the dawn. The real gown was designed to literally glow in the darkness.”

One of the heiresses gasped in recognition. “She’s right! I saw that interview, but I never imagined Color meant it literally.”

“How did she even do that?”

“It was so beautiful!”

Honora shot a desperate, pale look at Leopold.

He just stared back, bewildered. He had no idea the dress had a hidden feature. But he couldn’t admit he’d been duped.

“So what if it glows?” he blustered. “For all we know, you just smeared some fluorescent paint on it as a cheap trick!”

His accusation gave Honora’s supporters a new line of attack.

“That’s right! She probably just used glow-in-the-dark powder!”

“Just another little scheme to hide the fact that she’s wearing a fake!”

Larissa chuckled, completely unfazed. “Leopold, you really won’t give up until you’ve hit a dead end, will you? Don’t worry. When I said I had proof, I wasn’t bluffing.”

Leopold snorted, refusing to back down. “Then show us! Let’s see this so-called proof!”
