Love beyond the mask (Whitney) novel Chapter 1221

"Sandy, you owe me. You owe our daughter, and it’s time you pay it all back!"

His kiss was wild, overwhelming, and left her lips bruised, her heart aching. When he finally let her breathe, Sandy was dazed, reeling from his words.

Without another word, Shane scooped her up effortlessly, tossing her over his shoulder.

Half-conscious from the intensity of his kiss, Sandy’s mind clung to the thunderous words he’d hurled at her: "You owe our daughter..."

That little girl earlier tonight—she looked so much like her.

And then there was Whitney, acting all shifty, trying too hard to hide something. She’d claimed Sandy was studying abroad. But what if she’d known Shane before? Now, Shane had said it himself: that was her daughter.

God. What on earth had happened between them?

Did Shane hate her? Was there anger in his voice?

And he’d said they’d been together more than once?

Sandy felt like a lost animal, trapped in a pitch-black box of broken memories. Panic and fear warred in her chest, her mind spinning as Shane carried her up the stairs, his strong arms unyielding.

Desperate, angry, Sandy clawed at his hair and shoulders. “No! I don’t believe you! What does your daughter have to do with me? Who is she? Tell me, Shane, tell me!”

“Do you even know who you are?” Shane demanded, carrying her into the bedroom.

The room was dark, charged with his dangerous, masculine energy. He tossed her onto the soft bed, pinning her down with his weight, his hand gripping her wrists above her head.

Sandy kicked and bit at him, fighting with all she had.

Shane’s control snapped. He tore her dress, lips pressed hot against her neck, his voice a low, strained rumble. “I know what I’m doing. I just need your help, Sandy. If you don’t, I’ll die. We have a child together—you can’t escape me.

Just do this, and I’ll tell you everything you want to know. Otherwise, if I die tonight, your daughter won’t have a father.

Is that what you want?”

“You’re blackmailing me?!” Sandy glared at him through her tears, but her dress was already in tatters. She was helpless against him, terrified that if something happened to him, she’d never get the answers she needed.

In a blur, he flipped her over and pinned her down, leaving her powerless.

In the darkness, the man took what he wanted, and Sandy was left with nothing but the shadows and her own shattered memories.
