Love Me Back (Amelia and Daniel) novel Chapter 307

Daniel’s eyes widened, pupils quaking as if an iceberg had just shattered inside him.

Amelia was still thrashing in the water, its warmth and weight muffling the details she would have otherwise noticed—like the way Daniel’s hands were trembling, so violently he couldn’t control it.

His eyes grew redder, water droplets clinging to his face. A single crystal bead slipped from the corner of his eye, impossible to tell if it was a tear or just bathwater.

Suddenly, Daniel lunged forward, gripping Amelia’s shirt collar and yanking her toward him.

The pearly buttons on her blouse popped off one after another, one even flying out of the tub and clattering on the tiles. The sudden rush of cold on her chest made Amelia gasp, panic flashing across her face.

“Daniel, what are you doing?!”

He seemed deaf to her voice, blind to her look of humiliation. With rough hands, he tore her shirt open, leaving only a beige lace bra between her and his gaze.

“He’s seen it all—so why can’t I?” His voice was almost too soft to hear, but the chill in it made her skin crawl. He leaned in, his words brushing her ear, “I’m your husband, aren’t I?”

Before she could answer, his mouth crashed down on hers.

Daniel pressed her against the porcelain wall of the tub, his body closing in, his kiss hungry and deep, tongues tangling.

For a split second, Amelia froze in pure shock.

He’s lost his mind.

This man is insane.

She bit down hard, desperate and wild, tasting the sharp tang of blood as it filled her mouth.

Daniel didn’t care. If anything, the taste only made him more relentless, his free hand exploring beneath the water, caressing her skin, drawing slow, practiced circles that sent shivers down her spine.

Goosebumps prickled over Amelia’s skin. She wanted to pull away, but her body betrayed her, nerves flaring to life under the water’s heat, every touch magnified, impossible to ignore.

She was unraveling, crumbling from the inside out.

She couldn’t escape, and her own body had turned traitor.

“Daniel…” She tried to steady her voice, tried not to sound weak, though she knew what would happen if she didn’t. “Let’s just talk, okay? Calm down and talk to me.”

Daniel’s hands didn’t stop. His lips brushed the curve of her ear, his voice rough and low. “Aren’t we talking, Amelia? We’re married. This is what married couples do.”

Amelia tried to push him away, but he pinned her wrists effortlessly. “But we’re getting divorced.”

He slowly straightened, bracing his arms on either side of her, staring down.

Her hair was soaked and plastered to her delicate, pale face, water streaming down her cheeks, glimmering in the light. He couldn’t tell where the tears ended and the water began.

He looked at her for a long moment. Then, all at once, he bent down and kissed her tears, tasting the salt, the bitterness, the pain.

She was crying.

Crying so hard her face was streaked with tears.

He’d pushed her to this.

It felt like someone had slapped him, snapping him out of whatever madness had overtaken him.

He let her go, stepped out of the tub in a rush of water.

Daniel grabbed a towel, wrapped her up, and lifted her out of the bath, setting her gently onto the thick, warm towel before carrying her over to the counter and placing her down.

The moment Amelia snapped back to herself, she slapped him—hard—across the face.
