Love Times Four My Stepbrothers Are My Mates (Alayah) novel Chapter 129

**When Broken Stars Drift Across Empty Midnight Skies by Troy Mason Venn**
**Chapter 129: Death**

**Nathan’s P.O.V.**

If I had to encapsulate this day in a single sound, it would undoubtedly be a long, frustrated growl.

I can imagine if someone had the audacity to record our day, the audio would be a cacophony of growls—each one echoing the same sentiment. A male or female, grappling with a Mate who stubbornly refuses to accept their rejection, each case steeped in its own unique swirl of complications.

Bastian, in his infinite wisdom, had assigned our Deltas a laborious task that felt as tedious as it was necessary. They were to sift through the Archives, combing through every file related to rejection. But that wasn’t all; they had to ascertain whether either party involved was still breathing. If one of them had passed, then, in a twisted sense, the problem would resolve itself. Yet, I knew that even in death, they wouldn’t escape unscathed from the consequences of their actions.

Every file that contained both individuals still alive would be brought to the Alpha’s office, where we would scrutinize the details and see if any requests were associated with them. From there, we would determine our course of action.

After a restful night, we dove back into the mountain of files and requests. The moment Yuma laid eyes on the date on one particular file, he began to growl low and deep. This case dated back fifteen years, and according to Taipo, the female involved was still very much alive.

“Brock, is there a request from the White Shadow Pack?” I inquired, my tone laced with urgency. This case needed closure.

Brock rifled through the meticulously organized list he had prepared, and a sense of dread crept over me as I feared there might be no request. “Found it! The request was submitted by the Gamma of the White Shadow Pack,” he replied, his voice steady. I recalled that he was one of the individuals who had filed a report all those years ago.

“I’ll take this one. I’m curious to see how the Alpha plans to explain this situation.” I declared, turning the file over to my Mate. “Brock, you’re coming with me. And summon Elder Aimi; I want her involved in this as well.”

An hour later, we were primed for departure, flanked by around sixty Elite Warriors as we exited the Blood Stone territory.

“We won’t pause at the gate; head straight for the Pack-house. If we encounter any resistance, neutralize them without lethal force,” I instructed through the mind-link as the gate loomed closer.

One of the Elite Warriors surged ahead of our SUV, ensuring our path remained clear to the Pack-house. As we drove through the gate, I silently thanked the Goddess that we were allowed to continue unimpeded.

A throng of Warriors had gathered in front of the Pack-house. I could hear the low chuckles through the mind-link; they had no idea what kind of force was about to emerge from our SUVs. The doors swung open, and as the other Elite Warriors took their positions, I stepped out slowly, followed by Brock and Elder Aimi.
