LUNA THE CAPTIVE HEALER novel Chapter 27

Chapter 27

Hazel’s POV:

I opened the car door and got in, driving toward the villa.

I hadn’t driven far when a black sedan suddenly swerved aggressively to overtake me, making me frown.

I wasn’t planning to pay attention to it, but the car suddenly braked hard, stopping dead in front of menearly causing a

collision.

I slammed on my brakes, almost rearending them. The car just sat there motionless.

Though traffic wasn’t heavy on this stretch of road, you couldn’t just block it like that.

I honked twice, but got no response.

Annoyed, I pushed open my door and got out.

The moment I stepped out, the front car’s door also banged open, and a man rushed out frantically, heading straight for the

back seat.

I narrowed my eyes and followed his movement, watching him help an elderly man out of the car.

The old man was convulsing violently, his face dark and bluish, hands trembling constantly, eyes wide open but unfocused

and vacant.

I could tell at a glancethis wasn’t an ordinary illness. That dark aura had almost consumed his entire face.

Alpha! Alpha!the man called out in panic, his voice nearly trembling, Can you hold on?!

That’s when I spoke up: Why not take him straight to the hospital?

He answered frantically: We were heading to the hospital, but the Alpha’s attack is too severe this timeI was afraid the car’s jolting might worsen his condition, so

He spoke urgently, his eyes never leaving the old gentleman, all his attention focused on him.

Move aside.I stepped forward.

He finally looked up at me, face full of wariness: What do you want to do?

I’m a doctor. Let me take a look.I crouched down, my gaze falling on the old man.

He hesitated for a few secondsunderstandable, since I didn’t look like a doctor, and whatever Alphahe mentioned probably had an important status.

1

Or would you rather keep blocking the road here?My tone was calm but brooked no refusal.

He glanced backcars were already starting to queue behind us. He gritted his teeth and finally stepped aside: Then please,

doctor

Though he said this, bis eyes remained wardly fixed on me, dearly not relaxed at all.

I crouched down, checked the old man’s pulse, then took a pill from my pocket and pushed it into his mouth.

A few seconds later, his whole body suddenly tensed.

The man was startled, thinking the condition was worsening, but then he noticedthe old man had stopped trembling and was actually calming down.

I used my other hand to check his breathing and lifted his eyelids to examine them.

His eyes had become cloudy, with faint black spots in the whitesthis wasn’t normal, definitely not an ordinary disease.

Just as the man was looking my way, he glimpsed that I somehow had a stack of parchment papers in my hand, covered with

ancient runes.

He was about to ask, but I had already placed the talisman on the old man’s body, my fingertips moving lightly as a wisp of dark energy was slowly drawn out.

The man’s eyes widened in shock.

A few seconds later, the old man opened his eyes.

His gaze was clear, his complexion restored, his breathing no longer weak. He could even slowly sit up.

Alpha! The man was so excited he nearly wept.

The old man turned to look at him, then shifted his gaze to me.

I ignored their emotions, casually withdrawing the silver needles from his body. The needle tips were already stained with a layer of dark residue.

The man seemed to want to ask somethingI could tell from his expression he wanted to know where I’d gotten those silver needles and how I’d made them disappear so seamlessly.

But I had no intention of explaining.

He’s fine for nowtemporarily.I stood up and dusted off my hands. This will last two months at most, after that it’s hard to say.
