LUNA THE CAPTIVE HEALER novel Chapter 31

Chapter 31

Hazel’s POV:

A glint of interest flashed through Joseph’s eyes.

Caroline frowned, putting on a confused expression as she looked at me: Didn’t you say so yourself? If it weren’t for your man bringing you here, you couldn’t have gotten into this place at all, right? With your kind of background, how could you possibly appear at such an occasion?

I curved my lips, my eyes gradually taking on a cold edge: My background? Why don’t you tell me exactly what kind of background I have?

Just as I finished speaking, Maxwell walked over, his tone respectfully consistent as always: My lady.

Caroline’s eyes immediately lit up when she saw him, as if she’d caught some evidence: It’s him!

She raised her voice slightly, putting on a tone of I’m doing this for your own good: You got in by latching onto this rich man, didn’t you?! But no matter what, you can’t degrade yourself like this! You’ll ruin someone’s family this way, people will curse you!

Her voice wasn’t loud, but just enough for the surrounding people to hear. Immediately, low murmurs of discussion arose

around us.

No wayMaxwell does this kind of thing too?

Isn’t he Lady Karina’s Beta?

I glanced at her impassively, the smile on my lips as faint as if I were watching a comedy show.

Maxwell clearly hadn’t expected this turn of events either, looking at me with bewilderment, while I just raised an eyebrow, standing calmly, not rushing to explain at all.

At that moment, a beautifully dressed, elegant lady in haute couture and covered in jewels appeared in the crowd, her clear voice ringing out:

Hazel, why are you still here? Didn’t I tell you to follow Maxwell over first?

The moment Karina walked over, the venue suddenly quieted down. Behind her followed people from Blood Moon Pack, all smiling as they looked at me, their gazes full of kindness and affection.

I curved my lips and called out cheerfully: Mom.

Maxwell immediately went to greet hey: Lady Karina. I was going to take Miss Hazel over, butthere was a small situation just now, seems to be some misunderstanding.

As he said this, he deliberately glanced toward Caroline.

Caroline’s face instantly froze, her voice trembling slightly: Whwhat? What did you call her?

Chapter 31

Not just hereveryone around was stunned in place.

The Silver Moon Pack brothersand parents also gathered around.

The two princesses who had just been making snide remarks with Caroline quickly stepped aside, their eyes avoiding her like- she was the plague.

I even heard them hissing under their breath:

Didn’t you say she was just some kept mistress?

Are you deliberately trying to drag us down?

The crowd’s atmosphere changed instantly. Those who had been watching the drama now couldn’t help but look sideways, viewing Caroline and her two companions like they were watching a farce.

Karina frowned: Misunderstanding?

Maxwell smiled awkwardly but said nothing. After all, this wasn’t his place to speak.

I slowly walked to Karina’s side, looking at Caroline indifferently, my voice steady as I spoke:

This Miss Caroline, andwell, these two other ladies.

When I looked at those two socalled friends, they had already quietly distanced themselves from Caroline.

I smiled, my tone still gentle and soft, yet each word sharp:

Miss Caroline said that the reason I could appear here was because I latched onto a man who brought me in.

As I said this, my tone was calm, without a trace of anger or shame, as if I were simply objectively describing a joke.
