Chapter 113 She’s Already Mine

Luis’s POV:

When Deanna went to the restroom, I carried my drink and leaned casually against a corner wall.

Around me, people raised glasses and talked business. Jake stood just three steps away.

He walked closer, lowering his voice. Luis, leave Deanna alone.

I swirled my wine, answering with something else entirely. That nightwas it a good show?

Jake’s jaw tightened. You knew I was there?

I clicked my tongue and glanced up at him. A free movie, and you don’t even give me a review? That’s disappointing.

Hmph! Pathetic,Jake hissed. You’re so low and manipulative. Deanna would never fall for someone like you.

I suddenly laughed. My voice turned sharp and provoking. Want me to show you how much she loves me? Too bad. I don’t share my private life.

His expression changed rapidly. He grabbed a glass of whiskey from the table and downed it in one shot. His grip on the stem was so tight the glass nearly cracked.

I raised an eyebrow, then stepped forward and patted his shoulder.

Jake, you should’ve made your move earlier. She’s already mine.

Deanna’s POV:

When I came out of the restroom, I scanned through the crowd at the ballroom. No sign of that man who always attracts women wherever he goes.

Violet walked up, smiling, and bumped my arm playfully.

Mr. Eaton really knows how to charm. He just swept you right out of Jake’s arms.

If you were me, you’d be more shocked than happy.

Violet lifted her chin and pointed toward Serena across the room.

Better keep an eye on your Alpha. See? Someone already has her eyes on him.

I’m not his mate. What rights do I have to watch over him?

Lost in thought, I jumped a little when my phone buzzed. A text lit up the screen. Just two words from him. Come out.

Violet, I need to go. Something came up.

My fingers traced the edge of the phone without thinking.

So soon?

She looked puzzled, then her expression shifted into knowing amusement. A teasing smile curved her lips.

Go ahead. Don’t let me stop you from running to your Alpha.

Lopened my mouth to explain, but the words died on my tongue.

Ever since I gave her that recording, Violet has assumed Luis helped me.

She can never know the truththat it was Ruth behind it. If she found out, she’d never accept it.

So I stayed silent.

Violet saw me stammering; she just gave a knowing smile. She nudged me toward the door.

Alright, alright, no need to explain. I get it. Go on, your Alpha’s probably waiting.”

Violet’s POV:

After Deanna left, I lost all interest in mingling.

As the spokesperson, I had smiled for the cameras a hundred times today. My face felt stiff from it.

Theaded straight toward the lounge area to rest my feet.

But before I’d taken more than two steps, a man in polished leather shoes stepped in my way.

I looked up, annoyed, and saw Robertthat arrogant jerk.

He crossed his arms, blocking me with a malicious grin on his face.

1 frowned and spoke in disdain, Move it.

Robert clicked his tongue, his eyes sweeping over me in a way that made my skin crawl.

Pretty, you look worn out after standing all day. Why don’t I take care of you?

I gave a cold laugh. Save that line for some gullible Omega. I’m not falling for your act.

I moved to the side to walk past, but he stuck his arm out again.

Hey, I’m serious. I like you. Let’s be friends.

His proud tone and gaze said it all. Lucky you, the great Robert actually noticed you.
