Chapter 116 You Belong to Me
Peggie’s POV:
When I arrived, the private room was empty except for Jake.

He was slumped on the sofa, his shirt crooked and wrinkled. Usually cold and proud, he smelled of alcohol now. Even the tips of his ears were flushed.
I stared at him and made up my mind.
As a half–blood, I’d always been on the outside. In this werewolf world, nobody took me seriously.
If I could bind myself to an alpha like him, I could get rid of those scorn and ridicule of me being a half–breed. I could slip into the inner circle of the Olsendreich Pack.
I would not fail this time.
Using the hotel keycard Robert gave me, I had the waiter help carry Jake up to the suite he’d prepared.
The door opened.
They laid him on the huge king–size bed.
It took everything I had to wrest his shirt off. Under the fabric his muscles were tight and warm. His abs were clearly defined. When my fingertips brushed against his muscle, I felt raw strength there.
My heart was pounding. I was afraid he’d wake up, but I couldn’t stop staring.
He was the alpha I’d dreamed about, the one who could pull me out of nothing.
Just as my hand reached his belt, Jake rolled over and mumbled, “Deanna … Deanna, don’t leave me.”
Hearing that name, my fingers froze on the buckle.
Why did it have to be Deanna again?
I leaned on top of Jake, my palms sliding across his bare chest. I used the softest voice I could. “Jake, look at me. I’m Peggie.”
He turned his head away. “No. I don’t want Peggie. I want Deanna.”
I almost lost it.
Nope! Not happening! No way I gave up.
A drunk alpha was easy to trick, but if he didn’t cooperate, I couldn’t mate with him.
Luckily, I’d come prepared.
I dug a curling iron from my bag and quickly made my straight hair into soft waves like Deanna’s. After that, I changed into the blue dress she usually wore.
When I was ready, I moved close again and let my fingers trace his muscles.

“Jake-”
No. Deanna didn’t call him with that tone.
I forced my voice to copy Deanna’s tone. “Jake, it’s me, Deanna.”
His lashes fluttered. In the next second he flipped over and pinned me beneath him.
“Deanna…” he murmured. His hot lips met mine.
I wrapped my arms around his neck and went with it, my heart pounding with shock and a strange thrill.
“You are mine,” I heard him say.
“Don’t be with Luis.” He kissed me harder.
“Sob, sob. Hmm, I’m yours. I want you to tear my dress off!”
Suddenly, his eyes snapped open. What was usually calm and steady was now clouded with a red haze, wild like a beast out of control. He stared straight at me.
My heart clenched hard, and every hair on my body stood on end.
As a dualborn, the instinctive fear toward a top Alpha almost made me shake.
Did he recognize me?
But he didn’t say a word. He only held my gaze for a few seconds, his throat moving as he swallowed hard–then he leaned in and kissed me again.
“You’re finally mine.”
His large hand gripped the collar of my blue dress. With a sharp rip, the fabric tore into pieces.
Leaning down, he shoved himself inside of me forcefully.
I winced in pain, yet at the same time, I felt a strange sense of relief.
Jake’s POV:
When I woke up the next morning, my head felt like it was splitting apart.
I raised a hand to block the harsh sunlight but then realized someone was lying beside me.
My Alpha instincts snapped awake, and I bolted upright.
On the other side of the bed, Peggie was curled up. The blanket slipping low across her body, faint marks still visible on her skin.
I looked down and found myself naked.
