Marked By the Pureblood Alpha (Deanna and Luis) novel Chapter 115

Deanna’s POV:

When I slowly opened my eyes, I realized at some point Luis and I had switched positions. I was now lying across his lap.

He held his phone in one hand, his fingers moving quickly over the screen as he handled work.

The glow from the phone lit up his sharp profile, flickering across his face.

Hearing me stir, Luis set his phone aside. He glanced down at me with those amber eyes.

Are you awake?

A little embarrassed, I pushed myself up. Did I fall asleep?

Luis teased, Weren’t you the one who said you’d keep me company? Yet you fell asleep quickly, like a little pig. Geez, what a diva!

He smirked. “Guess I should start calling you Piggy.

I didn’tYou could’ve woken me up.

I lifted my gaze and locked with his burning eyes. The temperature in the car suddenly felt warmer.

II should head home,I muttered awkwardly as I looked away, fumbling for the door handle.

But Luis slipped his arm around my waist. He pulled me right back into his lap.

Piggy, you’re just going to leave?

I sat stiffly in Luis’s lap, feeling the heat radiating between his legs. The shock froze me in place. I didn’t dare move.

What else do you think I want?

His lips brushed my cheek, his warm breath tickling my ear.

His fingers traced a slow line along my face before he caught my earlobe in his teeth, a little too hard.

Ouch!I gasped.

Luis’s breathing grew heavier. He said, If it hurts, then you should behave yourself. Stop saying things that drive me mad.

Before I could answer, he turned my face toward his and locked me with his stare. Before I could say anything, his mouth covered mine, fierce and unrelenting.

The familiar weight of his presence closed in around me. I had nowhere to run.

His kiss carried heat and skill, pulling me under before I could resist.

My hands had already wrapped around his neck. My body moved on instinct, pressing closer toward him.

The kiss seemed endless. Just when I thought I couldn’t breathe, Luis finally pulled away.

His thumb brushed over my swollen lips, then smoothed my messy hair. His voice came out rough and low.

If I didn’t have a flight to catch later, I’d have you right here.

You’re traveling?I asked quickly.

The memory hit melast time, just to spend my birthday with me, he cut a weeklong trip down to four days. He must still have work waiting.

Luis smiled, lips curving with mischief.

You don’t want to let me go? Want to come with me?

The teasing in his eyes jolted me back to my senses. If you want to leave, then leave. Who cares?

He gave a short laugh. Piggy, while I’m gone, behave yourself. If anything happens, call me right away.”

Robert’s POV:

I had just reached the VIP door of Spade A when I heard a dull crash from inside.

I pushed the door open, and an empty wine glass flew toward me.

Bang!

It hit the door with a bang and shattered into sparkling shards across the floor.

I nearly jumped out of my skinluckily I dodged in time.

If that had hit my lower body, I’d be in real trouble.

I turned and saw Jake slumped on the sofa. His shirt collar was open, and his tie hung crooked around his neck.

Twenty years of knowing him, and this was the first time I’d seen him this drunk.

I hurried over and asked, Jake, what’s wrong? Why are you so wasted?

He didn’t lift his eyes. He mumbled, Deanna, why did you betray me? Why don’t you love me anymore?

Clearly, he was still thinking about Deanna.
