Deanna’s POV:
+20 Free Coins
After leaving Crestwood Park, I suddenly remembered that my senior from university, Zelena Bond, had asked me to have dinner with her.
Because of that woman showing up earlier, I almost forgot about it completely.
By the time I rushed to the restaurant, Zelena had already ordered the food.
She had her hair cut short and styled neatly. Her white blouse buttoned all the way up, paired with a gray pencil skirt, made her look more mature than back in college.
Zelena has never dressed like this before.
“Deanna, are you sure you want to join my design studio?”
I sat across from her, took a sip of lemon water, and nodded.
She frowned slightly. “You were doing great at your company. You even made it to director. Why would you want to work for me?”
“I wasn’t happy there,” I said after a pause. “And I’ve already quit.” Then I smiled a little. “Zelena, what’s wrong? Are you not happy to have me?”
Zelena shook her head. “No, that’s not it. I’m just worried you’ll look down on me. You know I haven’t been doing well lately.”
Her voice dropped lower. “Back in college, when it was you, Violet, and me, I was the one who had it all. Funny how I ended up being the one who achieved the least.”
She wasn’t wrong. Zelena came from a rich family and was an only child. She went abroad in her sophomore year to study design.
After she got married, she met a terrible man. He took over all her family’s property and left her and her parents with nothing.
Even the company she started almost went bankrupt because she had no connections.
I reached across the table and held her hand. Her fingers were trembling.
“Zelena, I’m switching careers too. I was planning to start my studio. Since you already have one, why don’t we work together?”

Chapter 137 The New Beginning
A 26
+20 Free Coins.
Back in college, Zelena never judged me or Violet for our backgrounds. She often helped us out and even stood up for us.
We drifted apart after she moved overseas.
Zelena lowered her head and whispered, “It’s not really a company, not yet. If you’re doing this because you pity me, you don’t have to.”
“Zelena,” I said firmly, “you’re overthinking. I’m a businesswoman. If I’m putting money in, it’s because I believe we can make something great together.”
Zelena sniffed. She grabbed a tissue and dabbed her nose, trying not to cry.
“Deanna, thank you for joining me. You have no idea how much this means. Ever since my family went bankrupt, I’ve really learned what it feels like when people turn cold.”
She took a breath, then added, “Violet used to say I was different than the two of you. I didn’t believe her. But after I went through what you both had been through, I realized how shallow I used to be.”
“Zelena, don’t say that. Back then, you were the only one who didn’t look down on me and Violet.
“You know Violet,” I said with a small smile. “Her mouth can be sharp, but in her heart, she always thought of you as a good friend. If she didn’t, she wouldn’t have borrowed money from you to switch agents and pay off that penalty fee.”
Zelena finally smiled. “Alright then. To our new journey together–cheers.”
“Cheers.”
I lifted my glass of wine. The sleeve of my blouse slipped back, revealing the moonstone bracelet on my wrist.
The gem shimmered under the restaurant’s soft light.
I grew nervous and instinctively tried to hide it in my sleeve, but it was too late.
Zelena’s eyes widened. “Deanna, that bracelet … did your boyfriend give it to you?”
“A friend,” I answered quickly, keeping it vague.
She laughed and shook her head. “Don’t lie to me. No friend would give something like that. This is from a luxury brand called Hera. It’s a limited edition design called Luna Mare. Ordinary werewolves can never afford this. Only top–tier Alphas can place that kind of order.
