Chapter 139 The Only One
Luis’s POV:
“Someone else?”
:
My eyes narrowed slightly as I carefully thought about her words.
These past few days, besides her, there was only one person who got close to me.
And that person was a man.

“So Piggy’s that possessive, huh? Even jealous of a guy? Fine. Tomorrow I’ll put Aaron on leave. He shouldn’t have made you upset.”.
“I’m talking about your childhood sweetheart!”
I raised a brow. “You mean yourself?”
“Luis!”
She sounded angry, but it came out more like she was acting cute.
I gave her a long look, feeling my jolt of desire shoot straight from my
stomach.
“My ears work just fine,” I said with a smirk. “But honestly, I prefer the way you when we’re in bed to shouting my name now.”

Deanna ignored my flirting and sighed. “I know how we started was different,” she said softly. “But when you’re with me, I just hope there’s no one else.”
Her tone was serious in a way I’d never heard before. For a moment, it caught me off guard.
She pushed me away and walked toward the bedroom.
I frowned. It felt like I was missing something.
Watching her back, I strode after her.
In one motion, I grabbed her and lifted her onto the dining table. My hands pressed on either side of her as I leaned in, staring straight into her eyes.
“Deanna,” I asked quietly, “did someone come to you?”

She bit her lip. “She said she grew up with you. That you two were really close.”
“Grew up with me?”

That made no sense. The only girl I’d ever grown up with was Deanna herself, even if she didn’t remember.
She’d forgotten the times she brought Puddy over to my house, asking if I could take care of it.
Forgot how she used to sneak into the hospital to keep me company every day.
It was only a month, but to me, it was one of the most unforgettable times of my life.
But clearly, she was talking about someone else now.
For a split second, the image of a woman flashed through my mind–and I instantly understood.
Looks like someone’s been sticking their nose where it doesn’t belong, right into Deanna’s world.
I lifted her chin, met her eyes, and said seriously, “There’s no one else. Only you.”
The next morning, I drove back to Mooncrown Estate.
As soon as I stepped through the gate, one of the servants called out, “Mrs. Ruth, Alpha’s home!”
“You brat! You could have called ahead before coming back?” Grandma’s voice came from the hall, full of joy. Supported by Lindsay, she walked over, eyes scanning me from head to toe.
“You’ve lost weight. Have you been working too hard?”
I handed my suit jacket to a servant and said flatly, “Got too angry lately.”
Her brow lifted in confusion, then she scolded me playfully. “Angry? Who in the whole werewolf world would be bold enough to drive you mad?”
I sank into the armchair, one leg crossed over the other, lifting my eyes lazily. My eyes swept over Lindsay sitting across from me.
Then I let out a cold hum. “Seems like you’ve had company lately, Grandma.”
