**Chapter 206: Proudest Creation**
**Ruth’s POV:**
A deep frown settled on my brow as I confronted Luis, my voice sharp and unyielding. “Luis, it’s one thing for you to play around with that Omega, but you must understand that you can’t possibly take her seriously. Her family background and her manners are nowhere near what Lindsay offered. At least Lindsay was raised under my guidance; she was trained to understand the weight of her position.”
Luis narrowed his eyes, a glimmer of defiance sparking within them. “Ha! So you’ve been scheming behind my back, bullying her, haven’t you?” His tone was accusatory, as if I had committed some unforgivable sin.
The intensity with which he defended that Omega sent a wave of anger coursing through me, darkening my expression. I quickly turned my gaze to Alina, who stood by, her understanding evident. She pulled out her phone, revealing a recording, and a stack of documents that seemed to pulse with importance.
“You really think she’s such a virtuous woman?” Alina scoffed, her voice dripping with disdain. “I’ll give her credit for being clever. She struck a deal with the Mistbane Pack, using you as her bargaining chip. Those 30 percent of Mistbane Group’s shares? That’s what I paid her for that little arrangement!”
Luis reached for the file, flipping through the pages with a casual air that belied the gravity of the situation.
“So that’s why she returned to work,” he murmured, a hint of realization creeping into his voice. He tossed the papers onto the table, a dismissive gesture. “And so what? If she asked me for it, I’d hand over the entire Mistbane Pack. Anything she desires, I’d give it to her without a second thought.”
My chest tightened with indignation, the anger bubbling just beneath the surface. “You would truly go that far for some lowly Omega?” I couldn’t believe the words that were spilling from my lips, a mix of disbelief and fury.
Luis lifted his chin defiantly, his gaze unwavering. “She’s not just some lowly Omega. She is the woman I love. And frankly, it doesn’t matter if you’re my Grandma—you don’t have the right to hurt her.”
He let out a brief, cold laugh that sent a shiver down my spine. “Consider those 30 percent of shares my apology to her.”
A sharp, throbbing pain shot through my temples, and I felt Alina rush to my side, her hand soothingly rubbing my forehead.
It took me a moment to regain my composure, to quell the storm of emotions swirling inside me. Finally, I waved her off, knowing I still had one more card to play. If not, this boy might just drive me to my grave with his reckless devotion.
“Fine,” I said, my tone icy and measured. “Let’s see if she’s truly worth all this loyalty you’re throwing around. I have another recording for you to listen to.”
Luis’s expression shifted to one of curiosity and concern as he frowned and picked up the recorder.
