Marked By the Pureblood Alpha (Deanna and Luis) novel Chapter 219

**The Heart I Buried for You by Serene Lockwood**

Deanna had hoped to project an air of composure, to convey a sense of calm amidst the storm swirling within her.

Yet, the tremor in her voice and the unmistakable redness around her eyes betrayed her true feelings, laying bare the turmoil she was desperately trying to conceal.

“We broke up,” she uttered, her voice barely above a whisper, yet heavy with the weight of her heartbreak.

Violet blinked, taken aback. “Wait… you really broke up?”

For a moment, she had assumed Deanna was merely venting her frustrations. After all, Luis had always seemed to treat her well, or so it appeared from the outside.

“But breaking up and jumping into another woman’s arms so quickly? That’s just low. Men like that are untrustworthy. Don’t let it get to you, Deanna,” Violet said, attempting to offer comfort, her voice laced with concern.

At those words, Deanna felt a surge of heat behind her eyes, and before she could muster the strength to hold them back, tears began to spill down her cheeks.

She crouched down, her body shaking with quiet sobs, the weight of her emotions becoming too much to bear.

“I’m fine. I just… need to cry for a minute,” she managed to say, though her voice cracked under the strain of her sorrow.

In a moment of desperation, she reached into her coat pocket, searching for a tissue to dry her tears. Instead, a piece of paper slipped from her grasp, fluttering to the ground like a fallen leaf.

A sonogram.

Deanna’s heart plummeted into the pit of her stomach. She lunged for it, but Violet, with a swiftness that surprised them both, snatched it up first.

Her eyes widened as they scanned the paper, shock flooding her expression, her pupils dilating in disbelief.

“Deanna… You’re pregnant? Is it… Luis’s?”

The silence that enveloped them was deafening, and in that stillness, Deanna’s lack of response spoke volumes.

Violet felt a fire ignite within her, an overwhelming fury directed at the man who had betrayed her friend.

That bastard.

How dare he treat Deanna in such a heartless manner?

She had genuinely believed he was different—that he truly cared for her, that he was capable of love.

And now? That ostentatious display of affection—lavishing a fortune on a diamond necklace for another woman?

It was all too predictable. These Alphas were all the same, wrapped up in their own egos.

Violet’s fists clenched tightly at her sides, her resolve hardening. “No. I’m going back in there. I’m going to confront him.”

Panic surged through Deanna as she grabbed Violet’s arm, desperation flooding her voice.

“Violet, please, if you really care about me, don’t tell him.”

Violet’s eyes widened in shock as she stared at her friend, disbelief etched across her features. “You’re seriously going to go through this alone? Raise this baby by yourself? I don’t care how powerful the Mooncrown Pack is—this child is part of their bloodline too.”

Deanna shook her head, her voice choked with emotion. “Violet… will you come with me to get an abortion?”
