Marked By the Pureblood Alpha (Deanna and Luis) novel Chapter 233

**Chapter 233: Shadows of the Past**

**Ruth’s POV:**

As I stepped through the grand entrance of the Alpha Estate, an unsettling mix of emotions churned within me. A servant approached, his hands trembling as he extended a small bottle of pills, the label pristine and professionally crafted. These were not just any pills; they were the very concoction devised by our pack’s physician, intended to swiftly alleviate the pressure building in my veins, to calm the storm that raged within my heart.

With a practiced motion, I unscrewed the cap and swallowed one, the bitter taste lingering uncomfortably on my tongue. I took a deep breath, but the memories of the night flooded back, igniting my anger like a wildfire. In a moment of pure frustration, I seized my delicate teacup, the fine china glinting in the light, and hurled it to the floor. It shattered into a million pieces, the sound echoing through the hall, a testament to my inner turmoil.

The servants in the vicinity instinctively bowed their heads, their averted gazes mirroring the tension that filled the air like a thick fog. Alina, our diligent butler, stepped forward cautiously, her voice a soothing balm amid my chaotic thoughts.

“Mrs. Eaton, please, do not allow your emotions to overwhelm you. The Alpha may have been momentarily confused. In time, he will come to understand your true intentions.”

“Intention?” I scoffed, a bitter laugh escaping my lips as I clenched my fists, the pressure causing my knuckles to turn white. “If he truly understood what I was trying to convey, he wouldn’t be so stubborn, all for the sake of that wretched Omega!”

The thought of Deanna ignited a primal rage within me, urging me to unleash my fury. “As long as that woman, Deanna, continues to exist, Luis will remain ensnared in this stupor. She will ruin him—mark my words!”

Alina’s gaze remained steady, her voice unwavering as she sought to quell the tempest within me. “Mrs. Eaton, what would you have me do?”

“Make her disappear from Lycanland. I want to know every single detail of her life, her movements, her connections,” I commanded, my tone sharp and unyielding, leaving no room for discussion.

With a respectful nod, Alina replied, “Understood. You can trust me, Mrs. Eaton. I will ensure it is handled discreetly.”

I inhaled deeply, attempting to rein in my emotions, my voice lowering but resolute. “Only when Deanna is out of the picture can Luis find his way back to us. The Mooncrown bloodline must remain untainted, no matter the cost.”

**Deanna’s POV:**

As I glanced at my phone, the reminder blinked back at me: tomorrow was the day of my scheduled surgery. A wave of anxiety washed over me, but it was quickly overshadowed by excitement—Violet’s flight was landing today.

I arrived at the airport a good thirty minutes early, my heart racing with anticipation. Airports always felt like emotional battlegrounds, a chaotic blend of hellos and goodbyes, where joy intertwined with sorrow. I found myself standing at the railing outside the arrival gate, my heart pounding in rhythm with the ebb and flow of the crowd.

Suddenly, a woman brushed past me, her shoulder lightly grazing mine. “Sorry, it’s so crowded,” she said, offering a polite smile as she stepped aside.

“It’s perfectly alright,” I replied, shifting slightly to create more space for her. We stood side by side, an unspoken camaraderie blossoming in the midst of the chaos.

After a few moments of silence, she broke the ice, her voice casual yet warm. “My daughter is off on a vacation with her grandparents for a couple of weeks. This is the first time I’ve been apart from her for so long.”

I managed a faint smile, unsure of how to respond to her bittersweet confession.

She glanced at me again, her curiosity evident in her eyes. “Miss, are you married?”
