Marked By the Pureblood Alpha (Deanna and Luis) novel Chapter 240

**Chapter 240 Bound by the Truth**

**Luis’s POV:**

Even after sliding into the car, my heart felt like a wild drum, beating relentlessly against my ribcage.

“Drive faster! We can’t let Deanna go through with this!” Griffin’s voice cut through the air beside me, taut with urgency, each word laced with a palpable fear that mirrored my own.

I gripped the steering wheel tightly, my knuckles whitening as I focused intently on the road ahead. With a surge of adrenaline, I slammed my foot down on the gas pedal, the tires screeching in protest as the car shot forward like a bullet.

I barely registered the red light I blew through, my mind consumed by the image of Deanna, the weight of her decision pressing down on me like a heavy fog.

When I finally screeched to a halt at the hospital entrance, I didn’t even bother to park properly. I hurled the keys at the guard, who looked at me with wide eyes, and sprinted inside without a second thought.

The hallway of the OB-GYN wing assaulted my senses with the harsh scent of disinfectant, mingling with the faint, lingering aroma of Omegas. It was a chaotic blend that made it impossible to discern Deanna’s unique scent among the sterile environment.

“Deanna!” I called out, my voice echoing off the cold, sterile walls, desperation lacing my tone. My footsteps were frantic, each step fueled by a rising panic that almost sent me tumbling.

Then, I spotted it—the bright red letters glowing ominously above the operating room door.

“Procedure in progress.”

I froze in my tracks, those words hitting me like a physical blow, the meaning of them sinking in slowly as if I were trying to comprehend a foreign language.

Moments later, the door swung open, and a group of doctors clad in white coats emerged, their expressions a mix of exhaustion and concern.

Without thinking, I lunged forward, grabbing one doctor by the collar and lifting him off the ground, my heart racing with fear and anger. “The woman inside—how is she?”

“Sir, please! You need to calm down!” He stammered, panic flashing across his face.

“Talk,” I commanded, my voice low but icy, a stark contrast to the chaos swirling within me.

The doctor struggled against my grip, his hands desperately clutching my wrists. “She just finished the surgery. The anesthesia hasn’t worn off yet. She needs to rest before we can move her.”

My hands fell limply to my sides, and I stared blankly ahead, feeling as though a piece of my very soul had been ripped from my chest, leaving behind a chilling void that threatened to consume me.

“Who… did it?” My voice emerged hoarse, nearly cracking under the weight of my emotions.
