**Chapter 258: Surprise**
**Deanna’s POV:**
As soon as my feet left the ground, an intense warmth flooded my cheeks, and I could feel my heart racing. I darted my gaze around the bustling scene, mortified to discover just how many eyes were glued to us.
“Luis, what on earth are you doing? You need to put me down. Everyone is watching us!” I protested, my voice tinged with embarrassment.
He merely chuckled, his confidence radiating as he responded with a playful grin. “And what if they’re watching? I’m just carrying the mother of my child—totally legal, you know.” Not only did he disregard my humiliation, but he also gave me a little bounce, as if to emphasize his point.
Before I could unleash my frustration, he leaned in closer, his voice dropping to a conspiratorial whisper. “Trust me, I’m taking you somewhere special.”
I pressed my palm against his broad chest, attempting to squirm free from his grasp. “I can walk just fine on my own, Luis. Please, just put me down!”
Yet, he acted as if he hadn’t heard a word, striding confidently toward the sleek Lamborghini parked at the entrance, his tone casual as he continued to speak.
“If I let you down, I know you’ll bolt. And let’s be honest—you absolutely would.”
With a resigned sigh, I shut my eyes, feeling utterly defeated.
What was it about this man? Was he some sort of psychic twin soul, or was he just a clever parasite living rent-free in my mind? How did he anticipate each and every one of my reactions?
Finally, he set me gently into the plush passenger seat, then made his way around to the driver’s side.
As soon as the door clicked shut, he reached over and playfully ruffled my hair. “Now, be good. I’ve got a surprise for you tonight.”
I turned my head away, stubbornly refusing to meet his gaze.
This Alpha was utterly insufferable.
With a press of the accelerator, the yellow Lamborghini roared to life, surging forward as city lights blurred into streaks outside the windows.
After what felt like an eternity, we approached a magnificent 66-story hotel that towered above us—a breathtaking six-star luxury establishment, its façade emblazoned with a giant silver “D” that glimmered like a beacon in the night.
The car finally came to a halt by a stunning fountain, and I found myself staring at the building in sheer disbelief.
The exterior of the D Hotel was nothing short of astonishing; its opulence took my breath away. Every detail was crafted with such precision that it showcased an unparalleled sense of design, making it look like a dazzling jewel nestled in the heart of the continent.
I had heard whispers about this place.
This was the first six-star hotel in Nordvale, a marvel that housed everything from sky gardens and ocean-view restaurants to luxurious pools and expansive conference halls.
Built just three years prior, the D Hotel had quickly become a landmark of Nordvale, igniting a flurry of excitement and speculation throughout the werewolf community.
Rumors swirled about its enigmatic owner—some claimed he was an ultra-rich foreign tycoon, while others suggested the “D” stood for a spaceship or something equally absurd.
