**Chapter 323: The Truth Revealed**
Luis felt an incredible wave of relief wash over him as the agonizing, soul-crushing pain that had gripped his entire being vanished without a trace. It was as if a heavy burden had been lifted from his shoulders, allowing him to breathe freely once more.
With great effort, he raised the hand that had returned to its human form, still encumbered by the unforgiving silver chain. Summoning every ounce of strength left in his weary body, he shakily grasped Deanna’s wrist, his fingers trembling with a mix of desperation and hope.
His voice emerged as a raspy whisper, barely audible yet brimming with an astonishment and joy that he struggled to articulate. “You…”
He gazed at her with an intensity that felt almost primal, as if he wished to etch her essence deep into the very fabric of his soul. “You’re… a Healer?”
The realization struck him like a bolt of lightning. The one he had been tirelessly searching for, the flicker of hope, the miracle capable of saving him and the Mooncrown Pack, had been by his side all along, hidden in plain sight.
A tide of overwhelming relief surged through him, flooding his senses and momentarily banishing the darkness that had threatened to consume him.
As he reached out, yearning to caress Deanna’s cheek, she suddenly swayed, her body teetering dangerously close to the floor. His heart lurched in panic, and he quickly grasped her shoulders to steady her.
Deanna perched on the edge of the stone bed, taking slow, deliberate breaths to regain her composure. The warmth that had radiated from her palms had dissipated, leaving her feeling utterly exhausted, as if she had poured every ounce of her energy into him.
Once she felt a semblance of strength returning, her gaze fell upon the horrific wounds marring Luis’s wrist and shoulder. Anxiety gripped her heart, and she asked urgently, “Luis, w-what is going on? Why did you turn into that?”
Luis’s joy evaporated in an instant, replaced by a heavy cloak of guilt. His throat tightened as he spoke in a voice roughened by emotion. “I’m sorry. I kept it from you.”
He hesitated, the weight of his words pressing down on him. “The Mooncrown Pack has been cursed by the Blood Moon since my grandfather’s time. Every Alpha loses control after they turn 25 on the full moon, transforming into a black wolf that knows only destruction—unless they can find a Healer with the power to cure them.”
Deanna’s reddened eyes locked onto his, filled with a mix of disbelief and hurt. “Why didn’t you tell me?”
