Marked By the Pureblood Alpha (Deanna and Luis) novel Chapter 330

**Chapter 330: Ruth’s Family**

**Deanna’s POV:**

I stepped away from the whirlwind of activity surrounding me, drawing Luis aside for a brief moment of reprieve. The vibrant energy of the Mooncrown estate buzzed in the background, but all I could focus on was the knot of anxiety tightening in my stomach. In a hushed tone, I confessed, “I’m not used to having so many people fussing over me while I get ready.”

Luis, with his characteristic playfulness, pinched my cheek gently, his eyes sparkling with mischief. “If you find this little bit of attention overwhelming, how on earth do you plan to embrace your role as my Luna?”

With a casual flick of his wrist, he dismissed the six maids who had been hovering around us, their graceful bows as they exited the room creating a sudden vacuum of silence that felt almost heavy against my skin.

My curiosity bubbled up, compelling me to voice a thought that had been nagging at me. “Has the Mooncrown Pack always been this… old-fashioned?” I hesitated, feeling that ‘old-fashioned’ didn’t quite encapsulate the essence of what I meant. “I mean… is everyone just used to doing things this way?”

As my gaze swept over the grand room, I took in the estate’s austere classical architecture, each detail echoing the rigid traditions that seemed to shroud the entire pack. The moment I had stepped into this opulent mansion yesterday, the stark contrast with my previous home had struck me like a thunderbolt.

The servants here were impeccably formal, their every movement a reminder of the traditions they upheld. They knelt to apologize for the slightest misstep, their motions precise and rehearsed. In stark contrast, the atmosphere of the Mistbane Pack felt far too relaxed, almost casual, in comparison.

Luis reached out, his fingers brushing against my cheek as he tucked a rebellious strand of hair behind my ear. “This estate has been the home of seven generations of Mooncrown Pack Alphas. The traditions here are centuries old, and as such, the rules are unyielding,” he explained, his voice taking on a weighty seriousness.

He paused, his expression shifting to one of determination. “Once we hold the ceremony, you will have the freedom to choose where you want to live. And if you decide that you want to stay here, I promise we will change whatever you wish.”

“Why would you do that?” I asked, genuinely intrigued by the depth of his commitment.

Luis intertwined his fingers with mine, his thumb brushing against my skin in a soothing gesture. “Because you are destined to be my Luna, and I will grant you every right that belongs to me. Besides,” he added, his voice softening, “you saved my life. You deserve all of it.”

As I looked into his deep, expressive eyes, a tempest of emotions swirled within me. A knot of conflict tightened in my chest. Despite the warmth radiating from his affection, I couldn’t shake the lingering pain from his decision to keep the curse a secret from me.

Luis treated me with such kindness that it felt almost disarming, softening the jagged edges of my heart. Yet, the thought of him discovering that I had manipulated our relationship to take revenge on Ruth filled me with dread. What would he think of me then? Disappointment would surely cloud his eyes, wouldn’t it?

The weight of that thought made me lower my gaze, lost in contemplation.

Eventually, I finished my preparations, my mind still swirling with a cacophony of mixed feelings.

With a press interview looming ahead, I chose a chic white tweed Chanel skirt suit from the selection laid out for me. It was understated yet undeniably elegant, polished to perfection for the occasion.

Luis took my hand gently, leading me down the grand staircase. The air around us was thick with anticipation, every step echoing the weight of what lay ahead.
