Chapter 50 Did Those Rogues Really Violate You?
Peggie’s POV:
Tomorrow is my heart transplant surgery. I feel both excited and scared.
Excited, because Jorge told me the success rate is close to 80%.
That means soon, I could finally live with a healthy body.

But I’m scared too. What if once I recover, Jake stops treating me with the same care and attention he always gave me?
Lately, I’ve been texting and calling him.
He barely replies, and when he does, his voice sounds distant. He hardly comes to see me anymore.
If the doctors hadn’t needed his signature for the surgery consent today, I doubt he would have even set foot in this hospital.
I don’t know what changed, but the unease inside me keeps growing.
And knowing he went with Deanna to try on the ceremonial gown almost drove me insane. My jealousy burned so hot, I wanted to tear her apart.
If not for her, none of this would be happening.
And now, seeing her right here, just a few steps away, all the anger I’d been holding back rushed to the surface.
I sent my nurse away, then walked quickly toward her.
“Deanna, we need to talk.”
Deanna’s POV:
Peggie’s voice was nothing like her usual soft tone. It carried pride and hostility.
Before, I might have just turned my back and walked away. But then I remembered the kidnapping.
The one I still hadn’t figured out was who was the culprit. If it wasn’t Jillian, then Peggie might have had a hand in it.
I had to know who wanted me dead!
So I pushed down my annoyance and said coldly, “Fine.”
I followed her into the hospital’s top–floor VIP suite and immediately frowned.
This wasn’t a hospital room–it looked more like a luxury hotel suite.
Leather couches, luxurious marble coffee tables, and even the air smelled of expensive scented candles.
I’d heard a room like this cost nearly 100,000 dollars a day. Peggie had been living here for over a year. There was no way she could
afford this on her own.
Yes, she came from the Iceclaw Pack, a fairly well–known pack in Lycanland.

But she was unlucky.
She was born the daughter of Lincoln Pearson, the alpha, and his human lover.
Worse still, Peggie’s mother was a woman with no standing, a hostess who used to work in shady bars. Nobody knew how many men she had entertained.
Back then, when she tried to approach Lincoln, she could barely make it past the front gates of the pack.
Even when Peggie was later accepted into the pack, her bloodline as a half–blood made her an outcast. A half–breed, a child born outside of marriage–looked down on for more than twenty years.
So where did all this money come from? It had to be Jake.
When Jake and I were together, he was the one who paid for Peggie to have the best doctors, the best treatments, and the best care that money could buy.
Forget it. Jake and I have broken up now. There’s no point digging into it anymore.
I went straight to the point. “Were you the one who sent those rogues to kidnap me that day?”
Peggie poured herself a cup of hot tea, smirking like she couldn’t wait to see me suffer.
“So it’s true then? They had violated you?”
She circled me slowly, holding the cup in her hand, her voice dripping with mockery. “Tsk! Tsk! Poor Deanna. You must feel awful. When you were taken, Jake didn’t even bother to rescue you. He stayed with me, making sure I got the ceremony I always wanted.”
She laughed again, cruel and sharp. “You mean nothing to him. So what if you’re his girlfriend? You’re just a name, nothing more. If I were you, I’d leave while I still had some dignity.”
If she had said this a while ago, I might have been trembling with rage, losing sleep over her words.
But now? Now, it just struck me as ridiculous and hilarious.
I couldn’t believe how foolish I’d once been, letting such childish taunts cut me so deeply.
I cut her off coldly. “I don’t care for your nonsense. Just tell me–was it you?”
Peggie snorted. “No one wants you out of the way more than I do. But why would I ruin my own ceremony just to give you a chance to steal Jake’s attention?”
Her lips twisted into a grin. “Still, looking at you now. You wouldn’t be this upset unless those men really touched you.”
Her face lit up with twisted delight. “Hahaha! So how was it, Deanna? Getting violated by those rogues? Poor thing, I almost feel sorry for you.”
I stared at Peggie as she laughed like a lunatic, studying every flicker of her expression.
That day had been her long–awaited mating ceremony.
If she really wanted to destroy me, she could have chosen any other time. She would never ruin her perfect day.
Besides, Peggie loved to play the helpless little victim in front of others.
