Marked By the Pureblood Alpha (Deanna and Luis) novel Chapter 77

er 77 I Disagree!

Jake’s POV:

My fingers froze around the phone.

That voice was way too familiar.

And I hated it.

Who else could it be but my greatest enemy?

LUIS?) practically ground his name out between my teeth, my jaw so tight I thought it might break.

Yeah. Happy now?Despite Luis’s casual tone, every word irritated me.

You did this on purpose! Deanna, you foolish woman, don’t believe him! He’s only going after you to spite me.

Luis cut me off, his voice cool. From now on, stop harassing my girlfriend. Otherwise, Mooncrown Corporation’s legal team will be happy to cause you some real trouble.

He hung up without waiting for my reply.

Damn it!I hurled the phone against the wall. It hit with a sharp crack and shattered into pieces across the floor.

Behind me came the maid’s startled voice. Alpha, that was my phone! If something’s wrong, just say it. Don’t smash it.”

I clenched my jaw, forcing down the fury boiling in my chest. I’ll buy you ten more,I muttered through my teeth.

Deanna’s POV:

Luis set my phone on the table. I blinked, a little startled, but he didn’t look at me.

Instead, he calmly held a peeled shrimp to my lips. Eat,he said evenly.

I grunted, lowered my head, and took a bite, sneaking glances at his face.

No expression.

But the air around him felt colder, like the whole room had dropped a degree.

Before I could figure out how to cheer him up, his voice came, quiet but sharp.

Deanna, from now on don’t bother with Jake. He’s nothing but a psycho.

I couldn’t help itI burst out laughing.

Jake would probably never know that someone had finally called him that.

After dinner, I tucked away the contract Luis had handed me and went straight to Philip’s office.

At the door, I gave a knock before pushing it open.

froze at the sight of a werewolf.

nside stood someone I hadn’t seen in yearsmy brother, Desmond.

He wore a sharp, tailored suit and was leaning close to Philip, speaking in low tones.

it the sound of the door, he turned. His smile vanished instantly, replaced with a look of open disgust.

hilip’s face lit up with a smile. Deanna, it’s been a long time since you and your brother met. He just returned last week.

walked over with a small smile. I know. I heard you even took Mom, Dad, and Jillian on a road trip to the beach a few days ago.

hilip’s smile faltered, his eyes flicking toward Desmond.

Desmond only smiled wider, not the least bit embarrassed.

I figured you didn’t like that sort of thing. That’s why I didn’t invite you for the family trip. You don’t mind, do you, Deanna?

Back then, whenever Desmond said things like that, I would’ve gone along with it, nodding and saying, Sure, I don’t mind.

But this time, I had no reason to play along.

gave a short, mocking laugh. You never invited meso how exactly would you know I wouldn’t like it?

Desmond froze for a moment. You never join the family trip.

Desmond, the past is the past. Things are different now. Starting today, I’m a director of the company. I’m no longer under you- we’re equals. Actually, not just equals. I also hold 30% of the company’s shares.

Dad, what’s going on? Deanna is a director? And she owns 30% of the shares?

I’m your successor. I went to another continent and worked for two years before I finally earned the position of Director of International Relations! She hasn’t done anythingso how is she both a director and a shareholder?

Philip rubbed his hands together. As for the shares, I’ll explain later. But about the director role
