Marked By the Pureblood Alpha (Deanna and Luis) novel Chapter 78

r 78 Sibling Showdown

Deanna’s POV:

I curled my lips into a smirk and let out a short laugh.

Desmond, the world doesn’t revolve around you. We’re an adult now. So what if you don’t agree? What difference does it make?

Desmond exploded. Deanna! You’re a bastard! Do you really think you’re the true daughter of this family? Dad only has one real daughter, and that’s Jillian. Mom and Dad brought you home because they pitied you. And now you want shares and a director’s seat? You think you deserve that?

If this had been before, his words would’ve cut deep.

Now, they just sounded ridiculous.

Desmond hadn’t changed at all. He’d always pushed me away.

When I first came back to the pack, I was thrilled to know I had a brother.

In every show I’d seen, brothers always protected their sisters.

Desmond did protect someonejust not me. His loyalty was always to Jillian.

To him, I was an intruder, someone who didn’t belong. And he made sure I felt his hatred.

I still remember the day Jillian and I got into a fight. What we argued over was mine, but Jillian wanted it. I refused to give it to her.

She sat on the floor and cried. Desmond ran over right away, shielding her like a hero. The look in his eyes said he wanted to tear me apart.

By then, he could already control his wolf, while I was just a weak Omega who had only recently returned from a human home.

He used his strength to shove me so hard I hit the ground.

The small scar on my back came from that day.

Thinking of it now, I met his eyes headon, refusing to look away.

I held his gaze and said, Ambition isn’t an insult. If I have the drive, it means I have the ability, doesn’t it?

I leaned in a little closer. You claim you spent two years building up the company name on another continent, but from what I’ve heard, your face showed up in every bar out there. And that shewolfMandy, wasn’t she a hostess? Didn’t she claim she’s carrying your pup and wants you to take responsibility?

Desmond’s face went pale. His voice cracked with panic.

Deanna, what lies are you spinning? Dad, look at herthis is how arrogant she’s become! She already has 30% of the shares. When you’re gone, the whole company will be hers!

Shut your mouth!Philip’s voice thundered across the room. I’m not dead yet! And you two are already clawing at each other in front of me. If this is what you’re like now, this company won’t survive a day after I’m gone!

Chapter 78 Sibling Showdown

Desmond froze, but his eyes stayed locked on me, burning with fury.

I glared right back, refusing to look away.

After a long silence, Philip finally spoke again.

+70 Fres Coms

Desmond, if you’re not convinced, then prove it. Go headtohead with your sister. You’re both at the same level now. Over the next quarter, I’ll judge the results. Whoever manages the malls better will get the vice president’s seat.

The words lit sparks in both our eyes. Desmond and I lifted our heads at the same moment, fire flashing between us.

Seeing no objections, Philip’s tone eased. He picked up his teacup and took a slow sip.

Enough of this. Let’s end with something pleasant. Next week is Deanna and Jillian’s birthday. And since Desmond has come home this year, I expect us all to sit down as a family in peace.

Peggie’s POV:

When I saw the news on my phone that Muses had signed on with Mistbane Group’s mall, I was so mad that I nearly flipped the table over.

Last time, I’d sent Jake those intimate photos of Deanna and Luis. But he still hadn’t replied.

I even followed up with several carefully edited messages, pretending to comfort him.

But Jake stayed silent.

I thought that meant he’d finally turn cold toward Deanna.

Yet somehow, Jake still gave her his support.

Deanna cheated, and he still won’t let her go.
