Marrying Without My Eight-Year Boyfriend Knowing novel Chapter 28

When Alex's mother heard this, she fainted, clinging to me at the entrance of the police station, scratching my face with her sharp nails.

"He deserves it, he had it coming."

The bodyguards pulled her off, and I let her go crazy on the spot.

He was an adult; the consequences of his illegal actions were his to bear.

Emily, wearing sunglasses, sipped her coffee slowly.

"Did you already know?"

"Know what?"

Emily pulled out a few test reports, and I took them to see that she was infected.

"I honestly didn’t know, but you should see a doctor quickly. It’s not an incurable disease. Exercise and treatment will help."

"But aren't you afraid you might get infected too?"

"I'm not afraid, because as soon as I found out he was cheating, I got tested."

Emily froze, her face showing clear shock.

I smirked, advising her to live her life well and not expect something for nothing.

"Getting sick isn’t shameful, but you're not a good person."

She screamed in hysteria about the unfairness of it all.

I ignored her meltdown—this wasn’t my problem, she brought it all upon herself.

Time passed peacefully, though Alex’s parents occasionally came to harass me. They didn’t want to pay back the money, but they wanted their son released soon.

I contacted Helen to find out more.

Me: "Helen, what happened to the kindergarten?

What happened to Mark?"

Helen responded quickly.

"He? Well, he brought it on himself.

That stubborn fool insisted on defending Emily. He said she was just on leave, but later secretly let her return to work, and of course, we didn’t accept that.

Then he secretly made Emily the accountant. Guess what? Emily directly tampered with the accounts and quietly pocketed a lot of money. When it was exposed, Mark's wife reported it, and Mark was kicked out.

His wife was the most pitiful."

Me: "Yeah, those men, not a single one of them is reliable."
