Everything happened so fast. I woke up and went downstairs to check the news, only to read the headlines.

There’d been another murder in the pack. Dew...

"I– I know her." I blurted out to myself.

Dew... She was the fairy girl who’d tried getting me to talk about what was bothering me when I ran out of that hotel after my first sex with Rhett. She’d been so nice and even offered to ’heal’ my mate mark, thinking I was hurt.

We’d met only once but she’d made a mark in my mind. Aceco was a perfect example of how pure the fey could be, but Dew had helped me reinforce that idea. And now she was dead...

What surprised me was how Kylo took the news when he got downstairs. It was obvious that he knew her, probably far better than I did. But how?

Were they perhaps dating?

I couldn’t get those questions answered as Kylo soon left to Moon knows where leaving me alone with Fergus.

What followed proved to be the most traumatizing thing I’ve ever gone through. Fergus chased me up to my room and almost raped me.

The bastard touched me and reminded me of how he’d been the one visiting me every night.

At that moment, my wolf finally decided to wake up, giving me enough strength to disorient him long enough to escape. That led to me running to the gasoline warehouse and lighting it up with the lighter I’d taken from the kitchen, causing the place to go up in flames with Fergus inside.

He was dead. He was finally dead, and for once, I felt free.

When Rhett made love to me after we got back home that day, it felt like the best we’d ever had... Especially now that we’d begun coming out slowly to the pack members about our relationship.

Two weeks passed and the day for the planned attack against the vampires had finally arrived. Within this period, Aceco and I had done a lot of research and exercises to heighten my special ability.

After the war plans at the Alpha’s house yesterday, we were finally off to the entrance that led into the underworld, which the nymph Queen had found deep in the Raven Wood forest, at the foot of a mountain.

The plan was simple... I’d use my power to scan the area for vampires while we went there on foot.

The allied army was far too large to pass through these woods without attracting the attention of the vampires, so for now, only a small group composed of Aceco, Rhett, me, and some pack soldiers moved toward the entrance to the underworld with a copy of the map in our hands.

"Guys, wait." I alerted them when I felt something.

Instantly, everyone came to a halt while Aceco grabbed my hand. We glanced at each other and gave each other an understanding nod.

The fairy healer proceeded to close her eyes, channeling her magic through me. I was able to sense vampires hiding around the mountain, but I needed a clearer view.
