Roxanne didn't bother with Sebastian anymore, and he hadn't called or texted again either. She was more than happy with the peace and quiet.

She joined Zachary for a meal at a wellness-based restaurant he recommended, something he had called comfort food.

The place was tucked away on the outskirts of Valoria, more than an hour's drive from the city. But the journey was worth it. The dishes were unique, infused with the subtle aroma of herbs. Each bite was warm and flavorful. She easily cleared her plate.

Behind the restaurant was a gently sloping hill, at the top of which stood an old chapel. Zachary gestured toward it with a smile. "How about a walk to help digest all that?"

It wasn't a steep climb and would take maybe 30 minutes at most, so Roxanne, feeling just as eager to stretch her legs, nodded. "Sure."

They began their quiet ascent up the hill. A stairway led all the way to the top, and the path was smooth and easy. They made their way up to the top at a relaxed pace.

At the summit stood a small pavilion, and just behind it was a tiny, unmanned chapel. The wind at the top was pleasant, blowing past her and bringing a sense of calm. Her black hair danced in the breeze as she closed her eyes, enjoying the moment.

Without her realizing it, Zachary snapped a photo of the moment. In the photo, she looked even brighter than the sky.

Roxanne and Zachary then entered the chapel. It was very old, but the wooden beams had recently been restored. The interior was small—cramped, even—with both of them inside. There were no candles or offerings, just a modest stone altar. A couple of pieces of bread had been left there, along with a few scattered coins.

Roxanne rummaged through her purse and eventually found a single coin. She held it in her palm for a moment with her hands clasped in front of her. Then, she quietly set it down on the altar.

Zachary, watching her, smiled. "What did you pray for?"

She shook her head. "I didn't pray for anything," she said honestly. "My mind kind of just went blank for a second."
