Roxanne smiled.

"Oh, I was just messing with you. I treasure my life; I don't want to die. Besides, you know how my skills work. I need to be within eyesight. If you lock me up, your company wouldn't be in my line of sight anyway, so I wouldn't be able to curse it."

The fire in Sebastian's gaze dimmed a little. But the next moment, he met her pretty face, which was now wearing a mischievous expression. "But this house will be well within my sight. One house catching fire a day? That's pretty serious, isn't it?"

The just-extinguished flame in Sebastian's gaze reignited in an instant. He drew his brows together as his gaze turned cold. There was a storm brewing beneath the surface.

He closed his eyes, and a trace of weariness crossed his handsome face. Rubbing his temples, he kept his eyes shut as he tried to calm himself. "Roxanne, what exactly do you want?"

Sebastian didn't understand why things had turned out like this again. Just yesterday, he proposed to her and she was full of smiles and happiness. How did she become so prickly again overnight? He had already explained himself.

Today was Miles' death anniversary, and he had just been accompanying Liana for a visit. What was there to be upset about?

Roxanne didn't expect Sebastian to see the problem, nor did she expect him to change. There were only three days left. If they could get through them peacefully, fine. If not, she didn't mind throwing a few more jinxes his way.

"Sebastian, it has never been about what I want; it's always about what you want. A person shouldn't be so shameless, wanting the best of both worlds. However you treat me, that's how I'll treat you. If I mean nothing to you, then you mean nothing to me either."

With that, she turned and headed upstairs. When she reached the second floor, she glanced back at Sebastian, who still stood frozen in the same spot.

"I want to break up and go our separate ways. If you don't agree, then endure this. What happened today will happen again and again. Like I said—if you can endure it, do. If you can't, then end it."

She walked back to her room, cool and indifferent. She left Sebastian with a cold, unfeeling silhouette. Then came the slam of a door.
