The moment the four of them saw Sebastian, their previously confident and high-spirited demeanor instantly deflated. Sitting in the hospital ward, they looked noticeably tense.
They were all at the top of their respective fields, so, of course, they had seen Sebastian before, and, of course, they knew who he was. In fact, one of the men and one of the women were even employees at AE Corporation.
Yet now, they were being asked to teach their employer how to date. They were so nervous that they started shaking. If this went badly, they could very well lose their jobs.
Winona Weber and Jake Guerrero exchanged a look. Both of them worked in sales with Winona at a branch office and Jake at the headquarters. Because of her outstanding performance, Winona often went to the headquarters to report on progress, so she was considered to be half a part of the main office.
She and Jake weren't just work acquaintances. They also knew each other from the club scene. In fact, the first time they met, they had tried to seduce each other. It had been a real battle of the pros, but it ended with a falling-out.
Neither of them ever expected to end up as Sebastian's dating consultants. They both cast a resentful look at Nicholas.
If Nicholas had told them from the start that the person needing dating training was Sebastian, they wouldn't have agreed to it for any amount of money even if their life depended on it.
This had to be a joke. Teaching the head of the company how to date was just asking for trouble. Nicholas was clearly trying to throw them under the bus!
More importantly, being on the same campus with Roxanne, he knew about the college gossip and some of the stories surrounding her. He could offer insights that were far more specific. Besides the high pay, Nicholas had also promised him a job at AE Corporation after graduation.
Jake couldn't turn that down. Being a student at Valoria College, he was undoubtedly talented, and his dream had always been to work at AE Corporation.
But with so many outstanding graduates across the country and so few positions at AE Corporation each year, the competition was brutal. Even for someone as excellent as him, there was no guarantee he could make it.
Now, with Nicholas promising him a job and handing him a big paycheck, why wouldn't he accept?
