CHAPTER 10

When I woke up the next morning I realized I was in my usual room in the packhouse that I always slept in whenever I stayed the night.

and rubbed my face and I looked down at the clothes I was wearing.

They weren’t mine, and they were definitely guys‘ clothes. But when I brought the shirt nose to smell it, it smelt like Asher.

I remember Arlo was the one that gave me the clothes to wear last night but I was too drunk to pay attention. I guess Asher gave them to him to give to me.

He is my mate and he would hate me wearing his brother’s clothes but how would he explain this

to them. No one knows about us.

I tried to shake the thought away and I climbed out of bed and tried to look around the floor for my clothes but I couldn’t see them anywhere.

I walked out of the bedroom which was on the Alpha floor and there was no one around.

So I headed downstairs to the kitchen and Arlo was in there and he handed me a coffee. So I sat at

the kitchen island with it.

“How are you feeling?” He asked.

“I’m alright. I guess. I’m really sorry about last night.” I said.

“You don’t have to apologize. You were obviously really upset about something. I haven’t seen you cry in years.” He said.

“Yeah. I know. How did I end up with Asher’s clothes?” I asked.

“He just gave them to me and told me to give them to you. After we got back from the forest we sat out the back drinking here. You were pretty drunk and you headed into the bedroom. You were all dirty from the forest so Asher gave me his clothes to give to you. They were just sitting on top

of the washing downstairs.” Arlo said.

“Okay. That makes sense. Where are mine?” I asked.

“In the wash. They’ll be ready soon.” He said.

“Alright.” I said.

“So, do you want to talk about it? What was bothering you last night?” He asked.

“Not really. I just want to forget about it.” I said.

“Okay. Well, we’re going to forget about it then.” He said and I smiled at him.

That’s one thing I loved about the twins. They were just always there for me. They never pushed me for anything. They never pushed me to find out what was bothering me. If I didn’t want to talk about it then they didn’t try to force me.

“That bruise on your head is still there.” Arlo mentions, trying not to make a big deal out of it so I

didn’t feel uncomfortable.

“Is it? I don’t know what the hell is wrong with me if it’s not healing.” I said.

“Maybe you should go and see the doctor.” He said.

“Maybe. If it doesn’t go away today.” I said.

“Okay. Sounds like a plan.” He said.

“Where is everyone else? I don’t think the packhouse this quiet before.” I said.

“Well, I don’t know where mom and dad are. But Asher and Gage are at training.” He said.

“Why aren’t you?” I asked.

“I told them that I would wait til you wake up. After last night I wasn’t going to let you wake up to

an empty house.” he said.

“You don’t have to treat me like glass. I’m not going to break.”

“You did break. Last night. Now I’m just making sure that you don’t shatter.” He said and I looked at

him with a lot of appreciation.

I didn’t have to tell him how much I appreciated him because he already knew. And so did Gage.

I was getting a little worried about that bruise though. People were really

It was because of the wolfsbane that my mother soaked the whip in. That’s the only reason why I wouldn’t be healing. And possibly because of the chains that they used as well.

So I couldn’t control how long it would take to heal and it was driving me crazy.

I think I’m gonna have to go and buy some makeup to cover it up. It’s just getting too out of control. Too many people are noticing it.

I know that I have to head home soon and I am really not looking forward to it. I didn’t want to go back there and have to deal with my parents.

I could only hope that they were busy with the Alpha and Luna today and that they wouldn’t be

there. But they usually are on the weekends which just makes my life a hell of a lot more miserable.

Luna Petra then came into the room and dashed any hopes of my mother being with her.

Luna Petra had a few women with her, but none of them were my mother.

But when she saw me she smiled and hugged me. We’ve always gotten along well and she’s always liked me.

“Trinity. I am so glad that you’re here. It feels like ages since I’ve seen you.” Luna Petra said.

“I know. I’m really sorry. I haven’t really had much time to hang out lately. College and work and everything.” I said.

“Don’t apologize. I can only imagine how busy you are. How is college going?” She asked.

“It’s really good. I’m enjoying it.” I said.

“That’s great to hear. Maybe some of that ambition will rub off on the twins.” She said, looking at Arlo. But I started laughing.

“I think we’re past the point of no return with those two,” I said and she started laughing as well.

“Unfortunately, me too. They never mentioned ever wanting to go to college.” She said.

“Well, they’re gonna make awesome warriors for the pack.” I said. And she smiled at me.

“Well, another reason I am happy to see you. I want to know if you are coming to the big party I’m planning. It’s a fancy party and it’s to celebrate Asher coming home.” Luna Petra said..

“Oh…” I said, taken by surprise. But then I saw Asher walk into the room behind her.

“What is so wrong with me being happy that you’re back?” Luna Petra asked.

“I was only gone for two months. It’s not like I was away for years.” Asher said.

“You boys are impossible. Fine. We won’t have a party.” Luna Petra said leaving the room.

“That woman will use any excuse to throw a party,” Gage said, walking into the room as well.

“She’s happy that her son’s home.” I said.

“Whatever. He’s not that special.” Gage said and Asher threw a towel at him.

But Gage walked up and sat beside me.

“How are you feeling this morning?” He asked.

“I’m fine. And don’t worry about last night. I was drunk and stupid and forget anything I might have

said.” I said.

“You didn’t say anything. You were just crying.” Gage said.

I looked up slightly and I saw Asher leaning against the bench looking back at me, not saying anything but not taking his eyes off of me either.

“Like I said. I was just drunk and being stupid.” I said.

“Okay. Well, if you want to talk then you know we’re here.” Gage said.
