Moonlight In Chains (Trinity and Asher) novel Chapter 19

CHAPTER 19

I was stuck in that hospital room for two days before I was finally well enough to leave. The twins were there to pick me up, but again, they made sure that no one else was around so they didn’t see

me leaving.

When we got back to the packhouse, they took me up to the top floor and they were letting me live in the usual room that I always slept in when I slept over. It was the last room left on the Alpha floor and I was surprised they were giving me this room.

It had a walkin wardrobe and my own bathroom. It wasn’t something that I was used to. However, everyone made me feel really welcome.

Thanks to the medication I was receiving in the hospital I was healing really fast which I was thankful for. I could actually see now and my hearing was back to normal.

I still had a lot of injuries but I could see them going away a lot faster than they used to when a

doctor didn’t treat me.

The twins left me to get settled in my room after Arlo gave me a bag containing all the school

assignments.

He knew I was really worried about falling behind in my classes, so he went to the school and told them that I had been in an accident and we weren’t sure how long I would be away.

I was really grateful for that and I reminded them that they needed to give me enough space so I could study and do my homework. They’re not allowed to think that this is a permanent sleep over where we just goof around all the time and not get anything done.

After the twins left I started getting settled into my room and unpacking my bag which they had packed for me. They got all of my clothes from my parents house and it was waiting for me. They didn’t know how I wanted it unpacked or anything like that.

It was already bad enough that they packed my bags and were probably going through my

underwear drawer. I wouldn’t put it past them to have a bit of fun there.

So I insisted on unpacking everything and putting it where I wanted them.

After that, I sat on the chair that was built into the wall directly under the window and I sat there,

staring out at the forest.

It was a great view from up here. I’d always loved it and always thought the twins were lucky to be able to wake up to this every morning.

I guess I was going to get to as well.

HAPTER 19

Someone knocked on the door so I called out for them to come in.

I turned around to see Asher standing there, looking a little hesitant about being in my room.

Is everything alright?I asked.

just wanted to make sure that you were getting settled all right. He said.

Yeah. I just

Yeah. I am. Thanks,I said.

I think this room has the best view in the house. He said, looking at the window.

Yeah. I do too. You can come in if you want. You don’t have to hang around outside the door,” I

said.

No. That’s alright. I’ve got a lot of work to do. I just wanted to come and check on you. But everything seems to be alright. He said.

Yeah. It’s all good.I said.

Alright. I’ll talk to you later. He said, then closed the door and left.

I didn’t know if he was just hesitant about pushing me too far or if he was genuinely rethinking having me here.

I’ve been having a hard time getting a reading on him ever since he came back.

He would look at me like he hated me but then he would tell me that he doesn’t want to reject me. When we were in the forest alone at the party, he made his intentions really clear towards me

which just messed me up.

So he stayed away but then I found out that he had his brother’s watching me while he was away to make sure I didn’t get hurt. And he was at the hospital with me, acting like the doting mate. Only

for him to not want to come in and see me.

I knew that if I tried to analyse this for too long then it was just going to drive me crazy. So I tried to

put it out of my head.

I grabbed the bag that Arlo gave me and I pulled out my assessments from school and I started looking through them before I finally picked one and I started working on it straight away.

I was trying to ignore everything else that was going around me and do what I do best. Just dive straight into school work.

Hopefully I would be able to get back there next week, but it really depended on how fast I healed from everything that had happened.

I was off to a good start with my schoolwork when I started getting a really weird feeling in my

stomach. I felt like something was wrong but I couldn’t place it.

I’ve had this feeling before and it always led to something bad happening.

Maybe I was just worried about Asher and the way he is behaving with me. I know that he’s acting weird because this is a really weird situation.

Or maybe there is more to it. Perhaps he met someone else but he doesn’t know how to tell me.

But that still doesn’t explain him being at the hospital with me.

I looked back at the books, trying to study and concentrate on what I needed to concentrate on.

But that became impossible when there was another knock at the door.

Come in.I sang out.

The door opened and I turned around to see Gage standing there. He had a very serious look on his face and I could tell that this must be what I was worried about.

I knew it was too good to be true. Something’s happened.

What’s going on?I asked.

Can you come with me?He asked. So I stood up and I walked over to the door.

You’re worrying me Gage. What’s going on?I asked.

I was just told to come and get you. I’m not allowed to say anything else.” He said.

So I nodded my head in understanding and I started following him down the hallway.

We took the stairs all the way to the bottom floor of the house and we went down another hallway until we got to Alpha Dennisoffice.

He opened the door and let me walk in first and as soon as I saw the scene in front of me, I froze.

Alpha Dennis and Luna Petra were standing behind the desk while Asher and Arlo were standing to

the side of the room..

But then I turned and saw Mom, dad and Spencer all standing there with smug looks on their

faces.

Trinity. Can you please have a seat?Alpha Dennis asked.

I looked around the room and tried to get a reading on everyone’s emotions, but I couldn’t. Everyone looked either pissed, smug or neutral. It was a very strange and scary situation.

But I walked to the middle of the room and I sat on the chair that was on the other side of the

My heart started thumping at that second and I knew that they had something up their sleeve, but I
