I tried to act as casually as possible as I walked into the room and I put my bag on the bed.
“What are you guys doing here?” I asked, standing next to the bed.
“What the f**k happened in here?” Gage asked.
“It’s no big deal.” I said, starting to pick up my clothes.
“It looks like a big deal. We know that you wouldn’t have done this to your own room.” Arlo said.
“Spencer and I got into a fight. You know what we’re like when we’re fighting. We’re always destroying what each other owns.” I said..
“Yeah. We know that. But this is a little extreme.” Gage said.
“What can I say? I really pissed him off.” I said.
“How did you do that?” Gage asked.
“Hey, it’s really no big deal. Please, just leave it.” I said.
“Alright. Maybe you can tell us why you were running through the woods in the middle of the night in your pajamas, shoeless and covered in cuts?” Gage asked.
“And where the f**k did you get that bruise on your head?” Arlo asked. So I reached up to feel my
head.
It still hadn’t healed. So I felt my lip and I realized that it was still a little tender as well from where
Spencer hit me.
“And how did you break your wrist?” Gage asked.
“Well, the injuries are because I got up in the middle of the night and I was half asleep. I fell down the stairs. No big deal.” I said.
“What about the forest? Apparently you looked pretty freaked out.” Arlo said.
“Asher told you?” I asked.
“He asked us about it because he knows that we’re friends.” Gage said.
“Spencer claimed that you were having an episode. What sort of episode was that? We’ve never
seen you lose your mind so badly that you start hurting yourself.” Arlo said.
“We’ve never seen you lose your mind or have any sort of episode.” Gage said.
“It was a misunderstanding. Guys, it’s nothing to worry about.” I said.

“Why are your parents standing outside listening to us?” Arlo asked.

“I don’t know. They probably want to know why you two are here. You never come here.” I said.
“Don’t f*****g lie to us.” Gage said, standing up off the bed while I was still picking up my stuff from
the floor.
He grabbed my arms and pulled me up so I was also standing to face him and I wasn’t distracted
by cleaning my room.
“I was just having a bad night, alright. Believe it or not, I have a lot of pressure and stress in my life.
Not like you two would know anything about that. You don’t work. You don’t go to college. You just
hang around training and doing whatever the hell you want in your own house. I don’t have that
luxury. Not if I want to make something of myself.” I said.
“Alright. Well, this is exactly what you need then. There’s a party.” He said.
“I’ve had a big day.” I said.
“I don’t care. You’re coming to the party. We’re not taking no for an answer. We’ll wait outside while
you get ready.” He said. So Arlo and Gage walked outside of my room and I had to keep picking up
my clothes off the floor so I could find something decent to wear.
When I found something suitable that covered all the bruises, I applied a bit of make up, especially to cover the bruise on my head and I put money and my phone in my back pocket before I walked
downstairs.
The twins were talking to my parents in the living room and my parents looked nervous. The twins were s standing there asking them a lot of questions, but I made them stop as soon as I saw them.
So we all left the house and got in their mustang.
We stopped to get something to eat first at the diner and then we headed to the forest and pulled up along a dirt road so we could walk into the forest where the music was playing, lights were lighting up the area and there was a gazebo in the middle of the forest with people hanging around
everywhere.
As soon as we got close enough to the gazebo I saw Asher standing there with a drink mingling. with a few people and there were a lot of girls hanging around him, trying to get his attention.
The same girls that were always swooning all over him before he left town and they didn’t seem to have lost interest while he was gone. But why would they? As far as they know, he doesn’t have a mate which makes him a very eligible bachelor and he could choose any one of them to be his
Luna.
Well, that’s what they think anyway.
CHAPTERK
I I try to ignore him and I walk over and get a beer and I walk out of the gazebo again and I see some people that I used to go to high school with.
I was surprised that they were in town. They had all chosen to go to the werewolf college and it
was hours away from here. But it was good to see them and I stood there for ages talking to them.
“I can’t believe you are still living at home.” Margot said.
“Well, it’s a good way to save money.” I said.
“Yeah. That’s true. But you’re still living at home with your parents.” She said,
“I’m 18. I can come and go as I please.” I said.
“And exactly what does that entail?” Elias asked, putting his arm over my shoulders.
“It means that I can do whatever I want. Which includes breaking a person’s hand if I have to.” I
said wriggling out of his grasp.
“Gottcha.” He said, getting the message loud and clear.
Even if we weren’t together, Asher and I were still mates and if he saw another guy touching me his instincts would take over and he could possibly kill Elias. I couldn’t let him act like that around me..
Not that I needed to worry about it for much longer.
Gage and Arlo soon found me and stood on either side of me. They seemed to be being pretty
protective of me tonight for some reason.
I decided that I don’t get out like this very much so I started getting stuck into much heavier
alcohol and it wasn’t too long before I started feeling the effects of the alcohol..
I must have really been nailing into it because I was getting pretty drunk and it’s really hard for
werewolves to get drunk.
But I felt like the twins were starting to smother me by always being there whenever I turned around and there were a lot of other people at the party that wanted to talk to me and I just didn’t want to talk to anyone right now.
I started wandering off away from the party and into the darkness of the forest.
The music was getting quieter the further I was walking away and I was liking it.
