As she spoke, Maggie realized she wasn’t wearing what she’d had on yesterday, but the pajamas she’d brought herself. Her skin felt clean and dry–she must have already showered.

Seeing the time, Maggie didn’t waste it dwelling on last night. She washed up, did a quick touch of makeup, grabbed her bag, and headed out.

The moment she stepped into the hall, she nearly ran into Franklin and Julia.

Maggie hesitated mid–step. Franklin and Julia also stopped when they saw her.

At lunch, Wilson Group and Cole went to a restaurant together, Franklin didn’t join.

Mr. Claremont smiled and said, “Ms. Brown’s best friend just returned from overseas. Mr. Wilson is busy hosting a welcome lunch, so he won’t be eating with

us.”

Johnny’s smile was all teeth, “Mr. Wilson is certainly a busy man.”

Mr. Claremont didn’t hear the barb; assuming it was a tease about Franklin and Julia being close, he laughed. “Isn’t he though.”

The afternoon schedule also went smoothly. After wrapping up, they flew back to New York that evening as planned.

According to Mr. Claremont, Franklin had other projects to discuss; he and Julia did not take the same flight back.
