Chapter 61 Is Harry Out of His Mind
Catherine smiled as she handed the gift to Rachel.
Rachel eagerly took it and tore open the wrapping. When she saw the prenatal exam report showing the baby was perfectly healthy, her face lit up with joy. “Nigel, look! Our grandchild is perfectly healthy!”
Nigel nodded and reached into his pocket, pulling out an envelope to hand to Catherine.
Catherine shook her head.
But Rachel grabbed the envelope and pressed it into Catherine’s hand. “This is a little welcome gift for the baby. It’s not much, but we’ll make up for it with all the proper courtesies once the baby is born.”
Catherine felt the envelope burn in her hand. “You could always give this after the baby’s born, ” she said.
Nigel spoke gently. “Harry’s the one who wronged you. Now that you’re expecting, we, as his parents, want to do something for you. Please, take the money. It will ease our conscience a little.”
With that, Catherine no longer resisted and accepted the envelope from Nigel. When she opened it, she discovered a check for a billion dollars.
Catherine’s hand trembled. “Nigel, this is far too much. You don’t have to give me so much.”
“We’re family. It’s never too much,” Nigel replied with a cheerful laugh, as if he wished he could give her even more of the Zimmerman fortune.
Catherine glanced at Rachel, but Rachel’s eyes were fixed on the prenatal report. “The baby will be here shortly after the New Year. I can’t wait for that day to come.”
Rachel reached out and gently touched Catherine’s belly. “Oh, it’s already starting to show!”
“Yeah, I’m already three and a half months along,” Catherine said, looking down at her
stomach.
Rachel was so happy that she couldn’t stop smiling. She noticed the other gift and carefully unwrapped it, revealing a delicate bracelet.
Looking up in surprise, she said, “Didn’t I tell you not to bring a gift? The prenatal report was more than enough.”

“The prenatal report is for the baby. This is my gift for you,” Catherine replied, taking the bracelet and helping Rachel put it on.
Rachel’s eyes lit up as she held up both hands to admire it. “Does it look good?”
Nigel nodded. “It looks great.”
“That’s more like it,” Rachel said, beaming, and took Catherine’s hand to lead her into the living room. Just then, Harry’s voice came from behind them.
“What are you doing here?”
Catherine froze in her tracks. She had already steeled herself for a confrontation with Harry before even arriving.
Before she could react, Rachel’s smile disappeared. She turned sharply to Harry, her brow knitting into a deep frown.
“Harry, have you lost your mind? You know I don’t like that woman. SWhy on earth would you bring her here? Are you deliberately trying to ruin my birthday?”
Harry’s expression darkened. “Michelle just wanted to celebrate with you…”
“I don’t need her to celebrate with me. Take her and go!” Rachel waved her hand impatiently.
Just seeing Michelle was enough to annoy her, but seeing Harry with her was even worse.
Michelle bit her lower lip, her expression etched with hurt. The hand that had been resting in Harry’s arm slipped away as she handed him the gift. “It’s clear your mother doesn’t want me here. Maybe I should go.”
Harry caught her wrist. “I didn’t say you could leave.”
“Harry, it’s your mother’s birthday. Don’t make her unhappy because of me,” Michelle said softly, her voice quivering.
Harry gave Rachel and the others a dismissive glance before his gaze settled on Catherine. “If you won’t welcome Michelle, then I’ll leave with her. That way, you won’t have to feel
uncomfortable.”
