Mr Melendez Your Wife Wants Divorce Long Ago novel Chapter 271

**Her Spark Ignites Tonight**
**By J.S. Caldwell**
**Chapter 271**

A heavy silence hung in the air, stretching into an eternity before Jayceon finally spoke, his voice low and filled with regret. “I realize now that I was wrong about everything that happened before. You’re still healing from all of this. If you need to unleash your anger, then go ahead and take it out on me, just… please, don’t hurt…”

Before he could finish his thought, a sharp slap echoed through the room as Arabella’s hand connected with his cheek. The sound reverberated in the tense atmosphere, and she turned on her heel, storming away, leaving Jayceon momentarily stunned, his hand instinctively reaching up to touch the stinging mark on his face.

Not too far off, Steve, who had been observing the scene unfold, felt a chill run down his spine. His boss was being humiliated right before his eyes, and he felt a mix of fear and sympathy. Quickly, he ducked his head, turning his back to the confrontation, desperately hoping to avoid any fallout from the explosive exchange.

Later that afternoon, Arabella had a scheduled meeting with Mrs. Morgan from the Hongyu Corporation. The moment they met, Mrs. Morgan’s face lit up with delight, showering Arabella with compliments that felt both genuine and forced. In stark contrast, Olivia, who had accompanied Mrs. Morgan, wore a scowl that spoke volumes of her disdain.

Arabella chose to ignore Olivia’s sour expression, focusing instead on escorting Mrs. Morgan to her car, hoping to maintain a semblance of professionalism. Just as she was about to say her goodbyes, Olivia slammed the car door shut and unleashed her venomous words. “Dr. Palmer,” she taunted, “the one who isn’t loved is always the extra in the story. Georgina is already carrying Mr. Melendez’s child. What’s the point of clinging to the title of Mrs. Melendez? You’d be better off getting a divorce and asking for a hefty settlement.”

Arabella turned to face Olivia, her brow furrowing at the audacity of the woman before her. “Why don’t you take the initiative and get the divorce for me?” she shot back, her voice steady despite the storm brewing inside her.

Olivia scoffed, her eyes glinting with contempt. “Oh, Dr. Palmer, when one half of a couple wants a divorce, it’s only a matter of time before it happens. I know it must have been quite a feat for someone like you, a once-fallen socialite, to catch a big fish like Mr. Melendez. But Georgina has already sealed her place with him. You can’t compete with that. Just accept it and move on!”

With a flick of her wrist, Arabella rapped her knuckles against the rear window of the luxury vehicle. “Mrs. Morgan,” she called out, her tone dripping with sarcasm, “your granddaughter has quite the audacity. She’s actually daring me to divorce my husband. One might think she’s angling to take my place!”

With that, she turned sharply and walked away, leaving Olivia fuming behind her.

“Grandma, don’t listen to that lying bitch Arabella!” Olivia exclaimed, her frustration boiling over as she lifted her skirt to climb into the car. But before she could settle in, the elderly woman smacked her back down with a sharp reprimand.

“I’m letting this slide for your father’s sake,” the old lady warned, her voice stern and unwavering. “If you stir up any more trouble, don’t think I won’t send you packing back to your mother!”

Olivia watched the luxury car roll away, her fists clenched in anger as she stomped her foot in frustration.

Back at her office, Arabella took a moment to gather herself, straightening her desk and preparing for her trip to Vance Manor. Just then, Zachary knocked and entered, his expression curious. “You’ve already accumulated quite a few VIP patient files. What made you decide to visit the outpatient clinic this afternoon?”

A warm smile graced Arabella’s lips as she replied, “Mrs. Morgan and my grandmother have been close friends for ages. She hasn’t been sleeping well lately, and I was concerned. I thought I’d write her a prescription to help her rest easier.”

In an instant, Jayceon was on his feet, his heart racing. “Why didn’t you inform me sooner?”

Steve wiped the sweat forming on his brow, the tension palpable. “Your wife’s parents were also… ‘invited’ over by the old man.”

That evening, at the Melendez mansion, the atmosphere was thick with tension. Sir sat at the head of the living room, flanked by Conrad and Tabitha, their expressions grim and expectant.

Arabella stood in the center of the room alongside her parents, the weight of the moment pressing down on them. Oliver, the butler, stood respectfully at the entrance, flanked by several bodyguards, ready to intervene if necessary.

In that charged silence, Conrad erupted, pointing an accusatory finger at Arabella’s father. “Roderick, the Palmer family must provide us with an explanation today!”

Roderick, visibly shaken from the recent turmoil of their family, felt a surge of anger rise within him. “Our daughter, who was perfectly healthy, married into your Melendez family, and you pushed her to the brink of a miscarriage! How dare you demand an explanation from us?”

Sir’s expression darkened, his grip tightening around his cane as he thumped it against the floor, the sound echoing ominously through the tense room.
