**Chapter 261**

As Tabitha and Kimberly entered the room, Jayceon instinctively averted his gaze, feeling an overwhelming rush of emotions swell within him. The tension in the air was palpable, and he could sense the storm brewing just beneath the surface.

Tabitha and Kimberly strode purposefully past him, their heels clicking against the floor, echoing the gravity of the situation. They headed straight into the master bedroom, leaving Jayceon alone with his thoughts.

The sound of a baby’s cries pierced through the silence, each wail striking Jayceon like a physical blow. His heart ached at the sound, and he felt the corners of his eyes sting with unshed tears. Unable to bear it any longer, he turned on his heel and made his way to the study, seeking refuge in the shadows of his own mind.

After what felt like an eternity, but was only a little over ten minutes, Tabitha emerged from the master bedroom. Her expression was fierce, a storm brewing in her eyes. “Where’s that bastard?” she demanded, her voice sharp and unwavering.

Victoria, sensing the tension, simply pointed towards the study. Without a moment’s hesitation, Tabitha strode into the study, her high heels echoing ominously with each determined step.

The door swung shut behind her, sealing Jayceon in a suffocating silence. Almost immediately, he felt the sting of her hand against his cheek—a sharp, stinging reminder of the gravity of his choices. Two hard slaps landed on his face, and he stood there, frozen, accepting the punishment without a flinch.

With a voice laced with fury, Tabitha pointed accusingly at him. “You forced your wife to get rid of your own son, all for the sake of a bastard child. Are you happy now?” Her words cut through him like a knife, each syllable a reminder of his failures.

Jayceon, feeling utterly defeated, sank weakly onto the sofa, his body heavy with despair. “Mom, you don’t understand,” he began, his voice barely above a whisper. “Georgina was sent abroad by Grandpa for six long years because of me. That child was a result of something terrible—she couldn’t handle it anymore, so she came back to find me. I just want to help her, even if it’s just a little.”

Tabitha’s face flushed with anger, her arm trembling as she struggled to contain her emotions. “Help her? Is that what you call it? Playing daddy to her child while shattering your own family in the process?”

Jayceon shook his head, anguish etched on his features. “You don’t understand. When Georgina returned, she was already battling severe depression. I promised to help her keep the child’s parentage a secret because I feared Grandpa would pressure her again. I wanted her to find her footing, to live a good life with her child, free from worries.”

He pressed a hand against his chest, fighting against the dull ache that settled there, a constant reminder of the turmoil in his heart. In his mind, he had envisioned a way to balance the lives of both Arabella and Georgina, but reality had spiraled far beyond his control.

What he hadn’t anticipated was Arabella’s decision to hide her pregnancy and, in a heart-wrenching act, terminate their child without his knowledge.
