My Deceased Wife Wants a Divorce (Hannah) novel Chapter 269

Sandra’s response caught in her throat. Her eyes darted around the coffee shop, a sudden suspicion dawning on her.

Had Hannah sent someone to watch her? How else could she have known she was late?

“Don’t bother looking,” Hannah’s voice was laced with amusement. “Unlike you, I don’t send people to spy on others. I just know you. I know exactly the kind of person you are.”

She gently swirled the coffee in her cup, her eyes half-closed. “You thought I’d be there at nine on the dot, and then you’d waltz in late, offer some pathetic apology, and force me to accept it after a string of insincere compliments.”

“Sandra, don’t bother with your pathetic, childish games. You’re calling me now, which means Lionel must have called you and told you to accommodate my schedule, right?”

Hannah was certain of this, not only because she knew Sandra’s playbook inside and out, but also because she knew Lionel.

“If you want my forgiveness, Sandra, it’s simple. You love spreading rumors about me online, so why don’t you apologize to me online?”

Sandra was speechless, her mouth twitching in silent fury.

“Hannah, that’s completely unreasonable!” she finally sputtered. “Yes, those posts were about you, but I never used your name! The public didn’t know it was you!”

“It was just a few pictures that caused a fight between you and Lionel. You weren't publicly harassed, I…”

Sandra was so angry she could barely form a coherent sentence, running a hand through her hair in frustration.

If she had explicitly named Hannah, an online apology would have just resulted in some backlash. But she hadn't. Posting another viral topic now would have a completely different meaning.

She was afraid she’d be too excited to sleep that night.

On Sunday, Hannah got ready to go out.

“Don’t get the wrong idea,” she said, catching Lionel watching her. “I’m going out with my colleagues, not to meet Sandra.”

Lionel’s expression tightened, but he said nothing.

At the restaurant, after everyone had ordered, they were chatting when Anna suddenly exclaimed, “Hey, guys, look at the top trending topic!”
