My Deceased Wife Wants a Divorce (Hannah) novel Chapter 320

The slap landed a split second after Hannah shut the door, connecting squarely with the solid wood and echoing with a loud crack. Even inside the room, the sound made Hannah jump, and she instinctively glanced back at the door.

“Serves her right,” she muttered.

Outside, Cherry’s face contorted in pain. She slowly sank to the floor, curling into a ball as she cradled her stinging hand.

“Hannah! I will never forgive you for this! You just wait!” she hissed, tears of pain and humiliation streaming down her face. Who did Hannah think she was, anyway? The Temples had spent a fortune trying to find Cheryl and her stolen child all those years ago. The money they had poured into that search could have resurrected the Woods family several times over. Now, her family was barely hanging on by a thread while Hannah’s life just kept getting better. Before, she could at least mock Hannah for her low birth, but now… now…

The idea instantly cleared her mind, and the knot of anger in her chest loosened. Thank God Lionel still trusted her enough back then not to do anything to the orphanage. Otherwise, finding someone to help her now would be impossible.

Sandra immediately grabbed her phone and dialed the number for the director of the orphanage, Jason.

Because Quennel had advised her to hold off on pushing Lionel for a divorce, Hannah hadn’t brought up the subject since returning from the banquet.
