Lionel never expected Sandra to make such a demand, and for a sum as high as fifty million.
Fifty million wasn't a huge amount for the Rosenberg family, but to give it to her for this reason seemed utterly unreasonable.
"Sandra, that's an outrageous request," Lionel said bluntly.
Sandra froze for a few seconds, then turned to him and burst out laughing.
"Outrageous? How is it outrageous? I gave her my place as Mrs. Rosenberg. I paid for your education and gave you connections. Isn't all of that worth fifty million!"
She had thought Lionel still had feelings for her, that he would not only give her the money but also continue to stand by her.
But now, he wasn't even willing to give her fifty million!
For a moment, Sandra was at a loss for words, gasping for air as the machines connected to her began to beep frantically.
A nurse, alerted by the change, rushed in.
"Get out! You heartless bastard, get out! I'll make sure everyone knows about the disgusting things you've done! Get out—"
Sandra grabbed a pillow and hurled it at him. The nurse urged Lionel to leave, explaining that the patient's condition was unstable.
With a heavy heart, Lionel watched as Sandra closed her eyes in despair, and reluctantly left.
At that moment, he had no idea what to do next.
If he really gave Sandra the fifty million, would she finally stop? Would she leave Hannah alone and stop causing trouble?
If she could actually keep her word, then… maybe it was worth giving her the money.
He drove away from the hospital, but halfway there, he suddenly remembered something.
Why did Quennel go to Sandra's hospital room?
He had meant to ask earlier, but in the heat of the argument, he'd forgotten. It was too late to turn back now, and if he asked Quennel directly, he knew he wouldn't get a straight answer.
But his expression soon mirrored his sister's, growing uglier by the second.
The two of them shared a look and silently got up and walked to the breakroom.
"You absolutely cannot let him give her that money! That's marital property—fifty million! The Woods family is in ruins, and now she has the nerve to say something like that."
The Temple family wasn't short on fifty million, but why should they let someone else get it for free?
Never mind fifty million; they wouldn't even give her five hundred.
"Don't you dare go soft on him. That idiot refuses to sign the divorce papers, and now he wants to make a huge transfer to his mistress!"
Hannah sipped her coffee, thought for a moment, and let out a long sigh.
"Find me a good lawyer. I'm going to file a lawsuit."
