Sandra, however, didn't believe a word Hannah said.
She figured Hannah was just putting on a brave face.
"It doesn't matter if you're interested or not. I'm going to tell you anyway!"
Originally, she planned to use this information to threaten Hannah, hoping to get something useful in return.
But as things stood, she had lost all her leverage.
Sandra was filled with regret. Why hadn't she used this information to threaten her earlier? Things wouldn't have escalated to this point.
Hannah didn't say a word. She simply sat on the sofa with her arms crossed, watching her quietly.
A dead silence suddenly fell over the hospital room.
Even Samuel remained quiet, just watching them. He also wanted to know who was pulling the strings. If it weren't for this whole mess, Hannah and Lionel wouldn't be in this situation.
"It was Quennel Rosenberg."
Sandra's voice shattered the silence. When she said the name, only Samuel looked surprised.
Sandra watched Hannah intently, trying to catch any change in her expression.
But Hannah looked as if she had known all along. She showed no shock at the revelation; her gaze didn't even flicker.
"Hannah, did you hear me? I said the person who drugged you was Quennel. The Quennel you admire so much. Do you hear me?"
Seeing Hannah’s calm demeanor, a sense of panic began to creep into Sandra's heart. Could it be that the secret she'd held so tightly was no longer a secret? Did Hannah already know, which was why she was so composed?
She found it hard to accept, and a part of her suspected it was just another one of Sandra's schemes.
She was trying to sow discord by throwing out a random name.
But they had both been drugged that night. Quennel couldn't have done both, could he? What would be his motive? Was it really to stop Lionel from marrying into the Woods family, to prevent the two families from teaming up against him?
No matter how she thought about it, something felt off.
Hannah stared straight at her, trying to read any clue from her face.
She hadn't expected to find anything, but just as she finished her sentence, she caught the distinct flicker of guilt and panic that crossed Sandra's face.
